We’ve spent the last year and half making a movie about the life and work of Jake Burton Carpenter. We’ve spent the last week sharing #DearRider with Jake’s family, friends, team riders, and those who loved him. It’s been wonderful to come together with his community and hear all the stories. Jake impacted so many lives in the best of ways.
He left behind a beautiful legacy and encouraged everyone to have as much fun as possible. Personally, he reminded me to live life passionately.
Dear Rider begins airing on #hbomax on Nov 9th. I hope you take the time to learn about this truly special man. I promise you’ll be happy you did.
Dear friends and family. Giving Voice, a documentary I co-directed with my good friend and partner @stern4417 , premieres tomorrow on @netflix . The film follows six talented high school students as they compete in the August Wilson Monologue Competition. It’s also a celebration of Wilson’s work, the theater, and the craft of acting. It was a privilege to work on this project and get to know these amazing aspiring actors.
