The foundation of this design was inspired by the Shishi lion-dragon also known as the lion dog a mythical guardian figure found at the gates of many Buddhist and Shinto temples across Asia. Its swirling mane became the key motif in my form development. Throughout my experimentation, I aimed to capture this fluid, twisting movement, which ultimately led to a garment constructed from a single, continuously spiraling semicircular pattern.
