This workshop is suitable for designers starting to think about type and for designers with some type design experience, hoping to improve upon their skills and processes. Some experience with drawing Bézier curves (in Adobe Illustrator, for instance) and with typography is recommended but not required.

Me convocaron para diseñar una etiqueta para Wine52, un club de vinos inglés que cada mes manda vinos de una región nueva con arte local.
A mi me tocó un Torrontés de Mendoza y lo llamé «Fulgor del Sur», retomando el resplandor de espíritu del Cono Sur en general y de Argentina en particular. Le sumé estrellas en dorado porque quería y podía, pero también como referencia a la Cruz del Sur, cuya conexión es tanto cultural como simbólica con nuestro territorio, nuestro cielo y nuestro pasado.
Ahora bien, me mandaron una foto de la botella y decidí que si la IA me va a sacar el trabajo, que por lo menos lo haga retocando imágenes. Bueno… terminamos peleadas (adjunto pruebas)

When we presented the idea to @niceshitstudio , we were honest: this was going to fulfill their dream.
And ours 😏.
From that moment on we entered the unknown: our first time designing a typeface, and doing it in the most unorthodox way. No moodboards, no style expectations... just their handwritten alphabets as raw material.
We took their gestures and built a system that holds all three at once: every character in three variables, one per founder. We let the concept guide every decision, trusting that starting from something genuinely theirs would make everything else follow.
The result is the Niceshit Non-Regular.
Three voices, unified as one font.

HMCT is excited to welcome this year’s Typographer-in-Residence, Fer Cozzi!
During her residency at HMCT, Fer is developing a project that explores the Latin alphabet as a system of expressive forms. Her research looks at how letters take shape through reading, convention, and gesture, and will result in a variable typographic system shaped by these investigations.
Fer is a type designer from Buenos Aires whose work grows from long study, steady practice, and a clear curiosity about how letters behave. She studied at the University of Buenos Aires and completed the CDT Type Design Specialization, later expanding her focus through programs dedicated to Devanagari, Cyrillic, Python for type design, and calligraphy. She works independently and collaborates with studios internationally on custom type, extensions, wordmarks, and typographic consultancy.
