We brought together finance professionals, students, and academics for a discussion on the role of venture capital (VC) and private equity (PE) in transforming companies and the economy. At FEP, we believe that knowledge makes most sense when it meets practice. That is why we continue to create space for conversations that matter. 💡

Na FEP, aproximamos os estudantes das empresas e criamos experiências que ajudam a preparar o futuro. Em abril, realizou-se mais uma edição dos Speed Talks - Estágios de Verão. Ao longo das sessões, os nossos estudantes tiveram a oportunidade de conhecer diferentes empresas, explorar ofertas de estágio e contactar diretamente com recrutadores através de conversas rápidas e dinâmicas. // At FEP, we bring students and companies closer together by creating experiences that help prepare them for the future. In April, another edition of the Speed Talks – Summer Internships took place. Throughout the sessions, our students had the opportunity to meet different companies, explore internship opportunities and connect directly with recruiters through quick and dynamic conversations.

Pitchs temáticos, dinâmicas de grupo e contacto direto com empresas parceiras marcaram a semifinal do FEP Master’s Challenge 🚀 Ao longo da sessão, os estudantes apresentaram as suas ideias perante representantes da Adidas, Central Lobão, Deloitte, Grupo Ageas Portugal, Millennium bcp, Natixis, NOS, Parfois, Sonae e Sonae Sierra. Na FEP, ser estudante também significa aprender através da prática, receber feedback de profissionais e contactar de perto com a realidade do mundo empresarial. // The semi-final of the FEP Master’s Challenge featured themed pitch sessions, group activities and direct contact with partner companies 🚀 Throughout the session, students presented their ideas to representatives from Adidas, Central Lobão, Deloitte, Grupo Ageas Portugal, Millennium bcp, Natixis, NOS, Parfois, Sonae and Sonae Sierra. At FEP, being a student also means learning through hands-on experience, receiving feedback from professionals and engaging closely with the realities of the business world.

Raquel Maia Morgado, Mestre em Economia e Gestão da Inovação pela FEP, foi distinguida pela CCDR NORTE com uma das Melhores Teses de Mestrado sobre Política Regional de Inovação e Estratégias de Especialização Inteligente. 🎓 A dissertação , que analisa o papel dos Institutos Politécnicos na transferência de tecnologia e inovação nas regiões periféricas portuguesas, foi orientada pelo Professor da FEP Luís Carvalho, e coorientada pelo Professor Mário Vale, da Universidade de Lisboa. Parabéns, Raquel! 👏 // FEP Alumna Raquel Maia Morgado has been distinguished by CCDR NORTE with one of the Best Master’s Thesis awards in Regional Innovation Policy and Smart Specialisation Strategies. The dissertation analyses the role of Polytechnic Institutes in technology transfer and innovation in Portugal’s peripheral regions, and was supervised by FEP Professor Luís Carvalho and co-supervised by Professor Mário Vale, from the University of Lisbon. Congratulations, Raquel! 👏

Que encontro incrível! 🌍 Na semana passada, juntámos a comunidade QTEM - Porto na FEP para um momento de reencontro e partilha. A FEP é a única parceira académica do QTEM em Portugal. A rede proporciona aos nossos estudantes a oportunidade de estudar em escolas de topo, viver experiências internacionais e desenvolver uma rede global com impacto real no futuro das suas carreiras. 🚀 // What an incredible gathering! 🌍 Last week, we brought the QTEM - Porto community together at FEP for a moment of reconnection and shared experiences. FEP is QTEM’s only academic partner in Portugal. The network gives our students the opportunity to study at leading schools, gain international experience, and build a global network with a real impact on the future of their careers. 🚀

Hoje, o Porto ficou ainda mais bonito com o vermelho e branco da FEP! 🔴⚪️ Os nossos estudantes saíram à rua para celebrar tudo aquilo que construíram ao longo destes anos. Entre tradição, orgulho e emoção, viveu-se um cortejo que reflete o espírito de uma casa que se leva para sempre. 🚀 Jornadas FCCN 2026 já arrancaram na FEP! Até 7 de maio, a FEP recebe o principal evento nacional sobre infraestruturas digitais para o Ensino Superior e a Investigação. Especialistas, investigadores e decisores reúnem-se para partilhar conhecimento e explorar tendências em tecnologia e inovação. A FEP e a Universidade do Porto reforçam o seu papel na criação de soluções com impacto real na sociedade. // 🚀 FCCN Days 2026 are underway at FEP! Until 7 May, FEP is hosting Portugal’s leading event on digital infrastructures for Higher Education and Research. Experts, researchers and decision-makers are coming together to share knowledge and explore key trends in technology and innovation. FEP and the University of Porto continue to strengthen their role in driving solutions with real impact on society.

Os nossos professores estão onde o futuro é discutido 🌍 A FEP esteve representada num dos palcos mais influentes do debate europeu, ao lado de líderes internacionais, a discutir economia, Europa e segurança global. Para quem estuda na FEP, isto significa aprender com docentes que levam a sala de aula para o centro das grandes decisões. // Our professors are where the future is being shaped 🌍 FEP faculty took part in one of Europe’s most influential policy stages, debating economics, Europe and global security alongside international leaders. For FEP students, this means learning from academics who connect the classroom to real‑world decision‑making.

A final da Pool de Talentos da FEP já aconteceu! Os finalistas enfrentaram a última etapa: entrevistas individuais com o júri, composto pelos Professores Alexandra Ramos e Bernardo Marques, e representantes das empresas parceiras EY, Frederico Mendes & Associados, Golden Wealth Management, H.B. Fuller, MC, PwC, Super Bock Group, Trust – Gestão Integrada de Saúde, S.A. e Yunit Consulting. Mais uma edição marcada por talento, desafios reais e muita vontade de ir mais longe. Os vencedores serão revelados no Dia da FEP! // The FEP Talent Pool final has already taken place! The finalists faced the final stage: individual interviews with the jury, composed of Professors Alexandra Ramos and Bernardo Marques, and representatives from the partner companies EY, Frederico Mendes & Associados, Golden Wealth Management, H.B. Fuller, MC, PwC, Super Bock Group, Trust – Gestão Integrada de Saúde, S.A., and Yunit Consulting. Another edition marked by talent, real-world challenges, and a strong drive to go further. O Professor Pedro Nuno Teixeira acaba de ser eleito Reitor da Universidade do Porto para o mandato 2026-2030. É o primeiro Professor da FEP eleito Reitor da Universidade, um marco que nos enche de orgulho.
