i finished childe’s for his birthday in 2024, but struggled to finish scara’s art because i felt like my drawing skills weren’t capable of completing it at the level i envisioned.
on the other hand, the songlist itself was rather easy. turns out my favorite character has a lot in common with my favorite types of music, so i was able to just plunder my pre-existing emo playlists to make his haha. the hardest part was rearranging the playlist — i spent over two hours last night going through and shuffling things around. it felt oddly satisfying, like untangling a big knot of yarn..
scara’s playlist follows his story: from his beginnings as a hollow puppet, abandoned for shedding tears in his sleep; to his erratic, resentful years as kunikuzushi; to his desperate search for meaning as scaramouche; to his realization of just how deeply he was lied to, and atoning self-destruction … and then, hopefully, finally peace and a quiet life as wanderer.

Another year another #summaryofart! I had a busy, weird year, and went back to school, which meant that art sometimes fell to the wayside. (I started playing a lot of Overwatch which didn't help lol.) Oftentimes the thought of making this summary was the motivation I needed to eke out at least one art a month.
I felt like I didn't make enough, but upon making this reflection I'm actually pretty happy with what I've made. I was given the opportunity to contribute to a very cool indie animation (@studio_adore_ ) and Homestuck's Patreon! I finally finished my abyss AU! 🥳
I'm still figuring out the balance of art and work and my other extracurriculars. My goal for the new year is to keep drawing my passions... maybe finish a few more long projects if I can handle it.
Thanks everyone for enjoying my art, and I hope to continue sharing much more of it in the new year! Happy 2025
