Thanks so much for your support and enthusiasm! I hope you had a wonderful end of the year, and that the new one has treated you gracefully so far. The world seems like a crazy place right now, and yet, 2026 feels somehow hopeful to me. Maybe it's the sun, maybe it's that I'm beginning to learn to accept things - either way, I feel it's going to be a good year.
I've been intentionally keeping my social media activity to a minimum, focusing on time with my family and creative work at Felt. I know it might seem like there isn't much going on, but I've been working on new things most of the time since 2019. Here's what's coming this year:
→ Around mid-month, I'll release Brut, my saturation plugin with 6 stunning preamp models, brutal feedback distortion, the Klangfilm tilt section, and two experimental filters. I'm very proud of how this turned out.
I was planning to release it last December, but I managed to reduce the CPU use significantly just before the planned release, and I decided to spend more time and fine-tune this. The CPU reduction comes from using simpler preamp models and disabling oversampling on saturation. It's switchable, so you can keep the higher quality mode on tracks where you're really pushing the preamps, and use the lighter models on other tracks.
→ The same feature, along with other improvements, are coming to Kolor later this year, too.
→ Around mid-year, I'll finally release my synthesizer plugin - by far my biggest release ever. It's a polyphonic modular synth based on my favourite modules from both iconic and obscure synthesizers. After years of work, I've come to see synthesizers as design statements. The iconic synths we still compare everything against come with limitations forced by physical hardware. When every feature costs, you need to make choices. After spending years making my dream synth, I've come to appreciate these restrictions. I believe good design - and maybe art in general - is about making choices.
