🤗Thank you to everyone who came by @pow_workshops during London Design Festival @l_d_f_official on 13–14 September! 💫 It was a joy sharing my painting paired with MODEL T, created by Luke @felsteadl . The work depicts the character of the car as ‘cute, timid, but fierce’. It was wonderful to see so many of you connect with it in person.

Grey room drop
(2020)
Performance + Installation
Chromium Molybdenum Metal, Aluminium Metal, Plaster, A3 cartridge paper
The acquisition of a Boeing 767 in deconstructed parts began a joint investigation and experimental archiving project that took place over the course of 2019/20. For the ‘grey room drop’ we focused on one particular piece of the plane, nicknamed ‘dog bone’ a titanium metal bar with two bearings on each end. We duplicated the dog bone in plaster from a silicone mold, Luke the built a metal rig structure and a joint release system based off the dead man release system that requires the joint action of two people to trigger a release. This mechanism is often found in airplanes to avoid a solo ignition flight.
Originally the performance of the drop took place in Laurie Grove baths in 2020 the week before the UK went into national lockdown, the last time we our friends and peers gathered for many many months. The plaster dog bone crashed to the ground, live streamed from 3 angles and signified a hiatus in the project.
Maybe one day, it may take flight once again….
