Name a better O Salutaris, I’ll wait.
With the Queen of Organ, the fantastic Iveta Apkalna ❤️
Performing Latvian music outside home always feels so special. I always have to remind myself to look away from the audience while singing this piece, because if I see someone 🥹, I probably will also 🥹, and then Iveta will have to make her debut as a singer.

Still floating after yesterday’s final of the 5th Jāzeps Vītols International Vocal Competition 💫
Singing my favourite aria with orchestra (exceptionally led by Kaspars Ādamsons) was a dream come true!
Grateful for the 1st Prize and the Special Award from Marina Rebeka and Prima Classic record label 💛
Stravinsky: “No word from Tom” from The Rake’s Progress 🎶
The women always have a plan… 🎭
On my way to Riga I am reminiscing the beautiful moments experienced at @verbierfestival . One of them is the beautiful trio from Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi!
I had the pleasure to perform with amazing collegues from the Verbier Festival family, but the powerhouse ladies seen in this fragment deserve a big shoutout - the fierce and fabulous La Ciesca @ellengpearsonmezzo and the legendary head of the family Elena Zilio aka Zita! And of course a special mention to “il nostro salvatore Gianni Schicchi” Sir Bryn Terfel!
💛
Nella - yours truly
La Ciesca - Ellen Pearson

This is last part of the encore for the concert I gave with @felsberga and #BurghardKlaussner at the @freie_akademie_der_kuenste in Hamburg. The words are by Bertold Brecht and the music Hans Eisler: Und ich werde nicht mehr sehen …

Glitter, a squeaky chicken, a toy piano, and a shaker egg are necessary attributes for a celebration of RAINER MARIA RILKE! 💚
Last week, Justine Eckhaut and I had the joy of working with the composer Manfred Trojahn and premiering his 19-song cycle “Dir zur Feier” with poems by Rilke at the Lied in Würzburg Festival, curated by Alexander Fleischer! All my admiration to Justine, who agreed to jump in on this project only a week before the concert - I love the courageous and crazy people around me 💥
There is so much stillness and softness, as well as pain and beauty, in this harmonically complex and as described by Manfred himself - free-tonal music. It was definitely a tough nut to crack, but oh, so yummy!!
We also discovered incredibly beautiful Rilke settings by the German-American composer Ruth Schonthal, and of course we couldn’t resist singing and playing Liebeslied by Moritz Eggert, which had been waiting for our second performance since our win last year at Franz Schubert and Modern Music @schubert.kug competition in Graz!

⚠️Jump in alert ! ⚠️⚡️
It is always a pleasure to collaborate with @felsberga , experimenting, searching for new sounds, pushing limits — and I’m especially happy that we’re getting to perform together on stage sooner than expected!
Tomorrow, we will present the first complete performance of Dir zur Feier by Manfred Trojahn, in a concert dedicated to the poetry of Rainer Maria Rilke.
Trojahn’s original writing offers a deep interpretation of 19 of the poems of the eponymous cycle by Rilke, relating his passionate relationship with Lou Andreas-Salomé.
I am also very happy to play at Lied in Würzburg for the first time ! @lied_in_wuerzburg
The concert will take place tomorrow, on Friday, March 20 at 7.30 pm.
We warmly send our best wishes to Alexander Fleischer, whom I am replacing at short notice.

A day in Ubud - saw some breathtaking temples and rice terraces, drank a coconut, sweated a few liters, climbed like 1000 steps and met the most welcoming and amazing people along the way. Btw I get the hype on Bali now
💚🌴🥥💦🌺🪷☀️🌸
One year ago today, soprano @felsberga Katrina Paula Felsberga and I were awarded First Prize, as well as the Prize for Best Interpretation of a Contemporary Work, for a piece by Annette Schlünz, at the Franz Schubert und die Moderne competition @schubert.kug organized by the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz @kunstunigrazkug
It feels like yesterday — and at the same time, I can hardly believe everything that has happened since for both of us 💪
Katrina, thank you for your passion, your wild spirit, your honesty, and your unwavering friendship.
Thank you to the competition for their trust and support.
Grateful. And ready for what’s next🤸♀️
Singing for Maestro Barenboim definitely wasn’t on my 2026 bingo card, but here we are!
I have always admired the work Daniel Barenboim has done, quite literally uniting the world through music. His @barenboimsaidakademie always feels like a special, soft place. The world is burning and falling apart day by day, and many students at the Akademie and their families are suffering firsthand.
Being part of this celebration of Paris, its humanity and beauty and pain was deeply touching and only made clear how important live art making is - people coming together and sitting in the same space - especially in this horrifying, shitty shitty shitty state of the world.
A big hug and a big thanks to Prof. Yael Karet for inviting me, and all the fabulous musicians for this beautiful afternoon ❤️
Shoutout to @classipix aka Peter Adamik for perfectly capturing the wonderful atmosphere 📸🫶🏻
