Nov 2, 2025. NYC Marathon I don’t know when or If I’ll get to do this again: My baseline A brief recap. Walking to the start line I tell Toan I’ll get emotional today Verrazano is wild, beautiful, chilling. I look up at the bridge towers and say out loud “this is incredible” The dude next to me and I both laugh almost in disbelief. Helicopters are flying around us. Runners of all walks of life. I wonder if dad felt this way 30 years ago, at this exact same location Back to “I don’t know when or if Ill get to do this again” Im in 4th ave. The crowds are louder than I remember. Lot of Mexican flags and VAMOS MEXICOS. The Mexican runners around me cheer back . Two Italian runners weave across the entire lane. I look over and they’re high fiving the kids on the sidelines. Fuck it, lets have fun, I join. We stay close to the crowd all of 4th. We have fun. Harrison pops out of nowhere and cheers me on Lafayette and Bedford are electric. I stay close to the crowd. I take water from the sidelines and pour it over my head. It’s hot After Pulaski DZ hands me a bottle. The stomach grumbles and I’m careful. OMRC is coming up. I accelerate. It’s the only thing on 1st I look forward to. I see a flag from a distance. This year they’re barricaded. I want to cheer on them as they cheer on me. I accelerate and scream my lungs out as I pass. Hope that hyped them up. Caging NYC crowds during the marathon is a crime in my eyes I’m on 5th. I hear Ting yelling on my left. Shes holding a cardboard cutout. A flattering photo. I yell something back and laugh I now look forward to my sister, Cesar and family. They’re somewhere in the park but I’m not sure where. I hear the cheers on the opposite side. I wave as much as I can. Everything hurts I cross the finish line and immediately turn around and look at where I came from. I don’t know when or if I’ll get to do again. I see the finish line arch. Runners finishing. Each with their own individual story. I start to see familiar faces and I greet and congratulate. We’re all battered in some way. I meet the fam. We cry. Eat pizza and chill 📸 1-5 @quentinmui.photos 7 @bkomoda 9-12 @agulosso You guys cooked 🙏🏽

August ‘25. The Wonderland Trail. As epic a day as one could ask for. 33 miles of one the most beautiful trails I’ve had the privilege to hike. And what a privilege to share those trails with Harrison The plan was to fast hike the entire wonderland trail (approx 90 miles) in 3 days. After a very long first day, some unexpected blockages and some very nice humble pie, Harrison and I made the decision to call it. We’ll come back another time to finish the loop. We also got some beautiful footage that didn’t deserve to just get cut together into some fast 30 sec reel, so I put a lot of it together, some out of order, for my future enjoyment. I also did just watch LOTR so I couldn’t help it .

BearBones’ first year was what we envisioned and more. We hiked , ran and raced for 50 miles from Bear Mountain to Central Park. Not everyone traversed the entire route on foot, but everyone gave us their all. Even those who had to make the tough decision of dropping earlier stayed around to help, crew, cheer or even pace those who were still on course. Huge thank you to all the volunteers who drove around and made sure all runners were taken care of, from start to finish. To @mikesaes for blessing us with that ginger tea. To @mr_ricky_ for all the bevies. To @ed7rres for the cool graphics. To @jaunbiance and @cheezeven for all the behind the scenes help and having to deal with us 😅. To Marwan, @chicka__boo , Adam, Rosie . To the personal crews of runners that helped out everyone else as well. To everyone who showed up at the finish line to cheer on. To @umpz for giving us such dope shots .To finishers who stayed around after their race to help out. A true representation of community, Bridging The Gap between road and trail . Between the short and the Ultra. Thank you Alex, for never holding back, you were always with us in this journey. Thank you @bridgerunners and @oldmanrunclub @asiantrailmix @xcrossinglinesx fam. BearBones will see yall again ! Same time next year? 🐻 🦴 — “Less is more “

Canyons 100 mile. 24:19 Less is more. I wanted to simplify things this time around. I did away with spreadsheets. I changed my watch faces to simply show me 2 things (time & distance) I don’t need pace, I don’t need heart rate, I don’t even want the map. My A goal was to enjoy and flow with the trails. I didn’t want any unnecessary metrics hovering around my head and taking space. I knew that my flow pace will get me to my B goal. To break 24hours. Ultimately I missed my B goal by 19 minutes but I’m proud I took the swing. I’ll spare the details for another day, another way. In summary, I had a good day out there. 10/10 , would not do this one again. ps: Poison oak is the worst. Congrats to the entire team on crushing their distances! Especially @cheezeven after putting up so many months of training and sacrifice, then executing on race day. While also being so passionate about the community and the trail values 🥲couldn’t be more proud. Race trips are just the best . Also, 7 days post race, fuck poison oak 😩
