7,500 times THANK YOU! That’s how many people set off from Mariannenplatz on Sunday. More joined later. We had registered 2,000, so what a lovely surprise. Thank you all for being there. - This huge number of participants and the many bottlenecks along the route meant that we were moving quite slowly at the front and there were some large gaps further back. We apologise for this and hope you were still able to enjoy the ride and have fun. We will adjust the route next year. - Due to various delays, our route coincided with the arrival of another demonstration at the Rotes Rathaus. Therefore, we had to adjust our route spontaneously. Here is the actual route we took: - We would also like to thank everyone who helped us organise this demonstration and achieve this record number of participants: The route guides – you were absolutely amazing The speakers and acts: Rachel & Ben from Chicane Bike Club, Vida, Laila and the BIKEYGEES, and of course Frau Fisch Frauenunterschlupf for the information stand and the delicious cake All the clubs and organisations that supported us with hardward and experience All the organisations and accounts that gave us their reach To Gitti La Mar for the beautiful photos, every year (link in bio) - We would like to acknowledge that the cooperation with the police motorcycle and bicycle squads was respectful (as far as we could tell) and successful. We expect this standard for every demonstration; however, we know that it is not the case for all demonstrations, and we remain in solidarity with all people affected by the increasing police violence in Berlin. - Next year, there will be 9,000 of us on the streets, cycling against patriarchy. Purple Ride 2026 – Program 💜🚲 We start at 12:00 with speeches & performances at Mariannenplatz. At 13:00 we roll together through the city. ✨ Vida – a Berlin-based Iranian – will speak in solidarity with the courageous women of Iran fighting for freedom, dignity, and basic human rights. @feli1371 🚲 #BIKEYGEES have been offering free cycling trainings for women and girls for over 10 years, helping 2,200+ people get on a bike. @bikeygees 🎤 Frau Fisch – Brazilian Berlin-based electro-poetry artist – writes, produces, and performs sharp, sensual lyrics guided by what she calls her “intellectual piranha.” @frau.fisch 🏳️‍🌈 Chicane Bike Club – a queer & FLINTA cycling community from Berlin organising rides, workshops, bikepacking trips and races. @chicanebikeclub ☕🍰🥟 There will be a small stand by @frauenunterschlupf with Coffee, Cake and Snacks donationbased. The choir “Cor dell’Avvenir” will accompany us musically and set the mood. Come by, say hello, have a coffee with them , and support their work. Unterschlupf e.V. is a donation-funded daytime shelter for women experiencing homelessness in Berlin-Kreuzberg*. With every donation, you help them continue providing warm meals, care, rest, and a safe place for our women*. 💜 Come early, bring your friends, bring your bikes. This International Women’s Day, Vida, a Berlin-based Iranian and Member of the Purple Ride Crew 26 — will speak in solidarity with the courageous women of Iran who are fighting for freedom, dignity, and basic human rights. ''This cause is deeply personal. I lived in Iran for 25 years and have felt the weight of systemic, state-enforced discrimination that shapes every aspect of a woman’s life. My sisters in Iran risk everything, including their lives, so that change becomes possible. Silence is not an option when women are standing on the frontlines of change! This day, we will be their voice.”
