We’ve been cupping so many samples lately at the roastery and have been buying up some incredible microblogs (most available now on our online store).
If you’ve never heard of a cupping before - it’s basically a coffee roasters way of brewing and tasting coffees on a level playing field using a brewing method with the least room for human error across the cups.
We use it for tasting samples to sent to us from green coffee merchants/importers to see what coffees we want to buy and also to quality control our roasts and to understand where we can improved the profile to get the best possible cup.

We have shared a LOT of highlights on here recently and have also gained a lot of new followers (welcome).
Whilst we have taken some very exciting steps in our journey at @feindcoffee , we always want to keep it as real as possible here on instagram.
Behind the highlights you may have seen have been so many 14+ hour days, stressful weeks managing cashflow, staffing, bills and the constant stress that comes with taking risk and the next steps in business.
There’s still toilets to clean, hard conversations to be had and many, many hours to be put in.
It’s taken us 5 years of grind, mistakes, changing direction, starting again, losing money to get to even where we are today and we just wanted to keep it real and remind/show you all that most days don’t look like the highlights you see on socials. It’s often just the easiest time to pull the camera out.
