✨Today I turn 27. ✨
And I still want to be liked.
Im not gonna be that girl saying “I dont care what people think of me anymore💁🏼♀️” - Im not that cool.
But there’s a funny tension between that and my art.
The more I exist in a world where I’m expected to be likable, pretty, and pleasant 👸🏼, the more my work moves in the opposite direction. 👹
It becomes uglier, more uncomfortable, more confronting.
Both versions of me exist at the same time.
Maybe that’s also why some people struggle to connect my art to the way they perceive me.
Anyways.. Happy bday to me 🎈

Each one of my freaks is completely handmade by moi 😇 — sculpted by hand, cast in silicone, and carefully hand-painted. I create everything myself: the eyes, the skin, the frame… every little detail. (Even the hairs on Bramms belly I punch one by one.. 🤭)

The eyes of my Freaks start with a 3D-printed base (yes, I print them in white now)

From there, each one is painted by hand 🖌️and finished with airbrush techniques. Then I remold them to add the clear outer layer.

To finish, every eye is carefully polished until it’s just right. 💎
