Oh my.. what a blast to play at @thegardensofbabylon last weekend ๐ง๐ผโโ๏ธโจ๏ธ๐ชฉ It has been one of my favourite festivals for years because of the amazing DJs, kind and open minded people and stellar atmosphere. To be able to play here myself made me feel over the moon, super happy and at moments more nervous than I have felt in a looong time.
THANK you to all the beautiful dancers, your energy and appreciation were everywhere to be felt ๐ฅฐ Also a heartfelt thank you to @shishibabylon for being a leader in creating this magic and trusting me to be a part of it in this way. @omertayar thank you for the support as stage manager and for your encouragement.
For those who were present: when my friend accidentally hit the stop button at the end of the set for me that actually was a beautiful moment. We are human, we have flaws, we sometimes do things we wish we hadn't. I love how everyone responded and how we had one last amazing dance together. I did take it out of the recording for the sake of keeping the flow ๐ซ๐
Three years ago I had my first gig. Oh my, I felt so nervous. Being in the spotlight, feeling the responsibility for creating a nice vibe, having to operate an unknown machine, not having someone to rely on should I get lost..
To learn a whole new skill from scratch, to apply all the new knowledge and to combine it with new motoric gestures while also being able to adjust in the moment while every move I make has a direct and noticeable effect. The nervousness turning into hyper focus just before the start of the set: I am seemingly relaxed but inside I feel like steering a racing car. I honestly asked myself multiple times: why am I doing this?
Luckily, as I developed my skills and got more experienced, the tension and joy got much more balanced. I still feel very focused at the start of a set, yet soon I am able to notice my surroundings again and feel a genuine connection with the audience. And then, bit by bit, I tap into the energy of the dance floor, which feeds me, and I then give back, then receiving it again, creating a collective energy ๐ซ This really is an extraordinary feeling. It makes me super happy and thankful, and sometimes brings me to extreme natural highs.
I feel SUPER privileged to walk this path in life, to be able to have this role as a DJ next to other roles I fullfil. Thank you to everyone who has supported me along the way โค๏ธโ๐ฅ

We zagen Sofie ooit draaien op het sympathieke @KNUSfestival en werden meteen gegrepen door haar aanstekelijke energie en voorliefde voor dansbare platen met invloeden van over de hele wereld. Inmiddels draaide ze ook twee keer voor Wolvenroedel, waaronder op ons 5-jarig jubileum vorig jaar. Hoogste tijd dus voor een eigen Radio Show, waarover ze zelf mooi het woord neemt:
โWolvenroedel staat voor mij voor subtiele, open, diepe en levendige vibes โ karakteristieken die me erg aanspreken. Bij het samenstellen van deze mix heb ik nummers gekozen die daarmee resoneren: zeker de eerste nummers zijn verfijnd, ze hebben groove en als geheel zijn ze behoorlijk divers. Ik heb bewust enkele hele lekkere nummers gekozen die beter tot hun recht komen โop de radioโ dan op een drukke dansvloer (zoals bijvoorbeeld het openingsnummer Kristalle van Township Rebellion, een van mijn favoriete nummers).
In de compositie van de mix had ik een beeld voor ogen van een zonnige lentedag in de tuin met vrienden, veel gelach en de voorpret van een lekker festival of goede clubavond later die dag. Een chille start met muziek die je langzaam meeneemt, opwarmt, en aan het eind van de mix ben je zo ongeveer klaar om de dansvloer op te gaan. Het goede en gelukkige leven, how lucky we are.
