This is a post to remind ourselves of this: Israelis, and Jewish people worldwide, are NOT the IDF or the government or Israel. They’re also victims of the reckless, fascist choices and propaganda of their own government. They’re also terrified. They’re also risking (and losing) their lives at the hand of Hamas. Many of them have been radicalised, just like Hamas radicalised many Palestinians. But many haven’t. Let’s remind all sides we’re all humans after all. This is theCivil Ensign of Israel, not the official flag. I stand with the people who want nothing but safety, love, peace and freedom, for Palestinians and everyone else.
Society tells us we should be sparing with our love, reserving it only for family and people we’ve known for a long time. It tells us we should be careful saying it, because we might get hurt. But love is infinite, and the more you fearlessly give it, without expecting anything in return, the more it keeps coming back to you. Because you attract others who also love fearlessly. It’s like magic.
I’ve known this crew for one month and a bit, and I can safely say I love every single one of them. It feels like we all grew up together. It feels powerful. It feels true. It is true. I want to thank every single one of you guys — for your wonderful energy, your unyielding compassion, your fearless generosity, your childlike honesty and your big, open heart. You made my summer.
