Sophie first came to Feast through Whitworth University to complete service hours, but after finishing all of her required hours, she chose to keep showing up simply because she fell in love with the heart of Feast. And she fits right in, always putting a lot of heart into her work here!
If you’ve taken a to-go order at Feast recently with a thoughtful little message written on it like “Enjoy your Feast” or “Thank you for your order!” there’s a good chance Sophie lovingly decorated it. She takes the extra time to make every bag feel warm and welcoming, adding small touches that make a big impact on our guests. Our chef partners make each meal with love, so why not add a bit of love to the to-go bags too?
Sophie hopes to one day teach English to English language learners, especially elementary students, and it is so easy to see why she will be incredible at it. She leads with kindness, patience, and genuine care for people.
We are so grateful for the joy, compassion, and intentionality she brings to Feast. We had the pleasure of trying Feteers today — authentic Egyptian pastries made from scratch with incredibly flaky dough, and they were absolutely delicious! 🇪🇬✨
The amazing family behind it was so generous and welcoming, even treating us to extra desserts. Their hospitality reminded us why Middle Eastern culture is known for warmth and kindness.
We truly love seeing how much Spokane has changed over the last 5 years, more diversity in food, drinks, and art has made the community even more special.

A special shoutout to Shaista, our Afghan chef and a devoted mother of seven. She once stayed at home caring for her children, but life changed and brought her family all the way to Spokane. Through every challenge, she kept going, working hard to build a better life for her family.
One of the ways she shares her strength and story is through food. Her scratch-made, authentic Afghan dishes are not just meals, they’re a piece of home, shared with new friends as she builds a new life here.
Even today, on Mother’s Day, Shaista is in the kitchen. Not because she has to, but because every bit of income matters deeply for her family.
