Ashley Group Dimanche Tour of Hampshire - Closed Road Rally
Farnborough District Motor Club (FDMC) are delighted to formally announce a new closed road stage rally, due to take place on Sunday 11th April 2027.
The event will be titled the "Ashley Group Dimanche Tour of Hampshire", the Dimanche Tour being an FDMC stage rally name resurrected from the 1970's.
The rally will be based in the Hart District of Hampshire, with the rally HQ and central service park being based at a local college. We are happy to welcome Ashley Group as title sponsors.
Ashley Group is a main contractor providing construction, maintenance and refurbishment services throughout London and the South East. FDMC are grateful to directors Sean & Colin Quigley, who are regular competitors.
The format of the event will be somewhat unique, in that it will consist of four identical stages in the same direction. With the stage length being just under 9 miles, the total stage mileage will be just over 35 miles, with road mileage being less than 20 miles.
One of the key objectives is to encourage single venue competitors to compete on closed roads for the first time in an accessible way, hence a compact route and value-for-money entry fee.
More information will be released, via the FDMC Facebook page, as and when it becomes available.
In the meantime, if you have any questions, or want to become involved in the event, please contact the team at [email protected]

Today, our driver Alex Rivett had the fantastic opportunity to take part in the MSUK StreetCar event at the British Motor Show, driving Farnborough District Motor Club’s Micra.
He competed in the "Star in a Reasonably Priced Car" category and secured the fastest time of the day on Saturday, clocking in at an impressive 50.60 seconds.
A big thank you to @streetcarmotorsportuk and @fdmc.uk for the opportunity — we thoroughly enjoyed the experience!
A message to all competitors, crews and volunteers at CAR-nival next weekend. We will have a roving reporter in the paddock and service area, in the shape of Roger Lane, who may approach you for a quick chat and a photo or two. Just tell him to go away (politely) if you're busy with something at the time.
The full results of the FDMC Dimanche Sprint are now available on the Club website. With a FTD of 51.61 secs, congrats to overall winner Mark Straker, pictured below, who finished 1.7s ahead of second placed Alex Peters, with Stephen Watson in third. Further congrats to the Class winners: Adam Steel (A2), Paul Holloway (A3), Martin Walters (A4), Alex Peters (A6), Stephen Watson (A7), Robert Bell (B10), Simon May (B11), Clive Stephens (B12), Mark Straker (C15) & Tony Gomi (D16). Geoff Wade, FDMC Media & PR. PS I'm still working on the historic class records so bear with me on those.
