FCPS to Host Budget Q&A for Community
Fayette County Public Schools will host a Budget Q&A for the community next week to respond to questions and concerns about the districtโs 2026-27 financial operations.
Date: Thursday, May 21
Time: 6 to 8 p.m.
Location: Room 159 in the John D. Price Administration Building, 450 Park Place
People can submit budget-related questions online by noon Wednesday, May 20. Relevant questions will also be accepted electronically on-site the night of the meeting. Those received in advance will have priority.

This event is offered in partnership with the Board Finance and Accountability Committee, a standing committee of the Fayette County Board of Education. The session will not be livestreamed, but the video will be posted afterward at fcps.net/BFAC with other resources, including a tentative budget summary and an FAQ.
*To accommodate the budget session, this monthโs regular school board meeting will move from May 21 to Wednesday, May 27, at 6 p.m.

The 16th District PTA recently hosted its annual recognition luncheon at Consolidated Baptist Church to honor the dedicated volunteers and chapters serving Fayette County Public Schools.
Kentucky PTA leadership praised the crowd for being the "backbone of our schools," emphasizing the power of advocacy and the importance of inclusivity in every chapter.

Phase 2 in the Project Right Size, Bright Future initiative is redistricting related to the new Greendale Road elementary school, which opens in fall 2027.
Note that the May 14 committee meeting will be in the library at Coventry Oak Elementary. The public is welcome to observe.
The committee is in the final stages of considering different scenarios for redrawing attendance lines. Ultimately, a recommendation will go before the school board.
