Every year, FCEAโs Inception Grant receives a thousand applications from emerging artists across South Asia. Many of the strongest among them come from small towns and rural India.
They are the ones making work about the India most of us never see. Climate, caste, migration, the texture of a country reinventing itself faster than its institutions can keep up with.
Without support, most leave the practice within five years.
We can currently fund four of them. Four out of a thousand.
Patronage for the 2026 cycle is now open. Be part of the journey of an artist for one year. Back their first major body of work. One of the names we support today may be a master ten years from now.
