Bottle 1973 Barolo. I’ve been adding old bottles to the winecellar lately and I must say it’s quite the pleasure. 🍷

Live with @ezoneesports 👏 We’ve built a platform with the purpose of supporting a new generation of esports athletes. Together with experts in various fields we provide performance-based research and knowledge in a simple and actionable way, in order to address the gap between in-game training and optimal performance. In other words, we’ve built a platform that cast a light on aspects that might unwittingly be holding gamers back from performing at their best. The free-to-use platform is launching end of month. Teasing content the next many weeks on social channels 😉🎉

I haven’t, until now, posted anything on Instagram about my involvement in Esport Denmark, the Danish federation for esport in Denmark. It’s been a crazy ride. I did a lot of research on the national industry in my time post-Astralis/BLAST, and what I found was that not much had changed in the four years I had left the grassroots level of the ecosystem. Sure, the size of the market had grown, but all the same issues as from my time pre-Astralis was still present. They still are today. However, the research led me to Esport Denmark and to take a look at the federation. One thing we’ve done in Denmark, better than many other countries, are our federations and unions. Esport Denmark wasn’t one of the good ones that had changed much (if any) in the 13 years of its existence. It was clear to me this needed to change, if we were - as a industry - going to get any real support from the politicians. Some might have heard it, others not, but I decided to attend the general meeting in October ‘19 to see what was up and down and how I could help. I wasn’t planning on joining the board, but that happened anyway. I saw that I could be of service, so I raised my hand and got elected as board member. Now, 8 months later we have set the federation out on a totally different path than the previous board. A complete make-over of the strategy and approach to the industry. From competing to facilitating. From not listening to having several advisory boards with people from every tier of the scene. We have raised 5 mio DKK (~670.000 EUR) in support from the Ministry of Culture. We are slowly changing and helping the eco system. Next, after the summerbreak we have a week booked with how to use this funding the next year or so to gain as much traction for the federation and support from the community by using the money smart and where its needed. If succesful, we’ll be able to secure more funding and help even more in this incredible space to succeed. There’s lots to be done and I’m excited to be able to help where needed. Grassroots, semi-pro, diversity, education, culture ... Picture: Me, Stén Knuth (politician), Anders Soerensen (Esport Denmark) at the danish parliament.

Enjoyed a few days in Lisbon last week. Highly recommend taking a vacation in the beautiful city, even if it’s just for a few days, as I did. Met with Johan, who was kind enough to show me around. Mixing pleasure and business isn’t such a bad idea. Speaking of business, one of my new businesses with Johan involved will be announced end of Jan/early Feb. Looking forward to that. What do you think it’ll be? #esportslife #business #pleasure

#ToTheStars
