I am very glad to announce that my proposal “Hoist” has been selected as a first place winner for the 2025 edition of the Mujassam Watan Urban Sculpture Challenge. The competition was hosted by Buildner, the Mujassam Watan Initiative, the Architecture and Design Commission of Saudi Arabia and the Eastern Province Municipality.
My proposal was selected as the winner for the Abu Hadriyah road site. I am very honored to be recognized in this way and I am grateful to the jury for the insightful feedback they provided.

Title: AD4 - Timber Living Complex
Description: This proposal for an apartment complex in Troy, New York for Architectural Design Studio 4 at RPI SoA pushes the boundaries of what mass timber building design can be. Intended as a contemporary monument to be placed in the gilded age historic center of Troy, the design employs new strategies for living, public engagement and ecologically responsiveness. A raised corner that serves two merging retail spaces, a diverse range of living spaces and a system of slats that control lighting and heating create a unique concept for what urban living could be in Troy.

Title: Nordic Pavilion Study
Description: This study of the Nordic Pavilion by Sverre Fehn for the Venice Biennale investigates structure and lighting conditions. I created both a small 1/16’’ scale model of the whole building and a 1/2’’ scale chunk model of it. The two layers of slats are elegantly supported on the corner and the two perpendicular walls, partly held up by ties in the areas where the slats are interrupted. The layering and draping of a transparent material creates a very even light dispersion.
