I introduce you to my first clothing collection “Subversive Renaissance” for @direneed.wi ‘Deteriorating Beauty and Femininity, a love letter to kinderwhore’ fashion show. 9 looks, 16 clothing pieces paired with a new 12 piece jewelry collection. 📸: @skylerdoud makeup/hair: @ve9ushas9lives & @gre.nby & @unx_ugly I feel so grateful to have been a part of this amazing project for the past months. I was fortunate enough to have been able to connect and be surrounded by so many INCREDIBLY INSPIRING TALENTED INDIVIDUALS. I was in absolute awe over everyone’s unique vision and styles that came into play of bringing this show to life. I want to send the hugest thank you to direneed for creating this event and for letting me showcase my designs down a runway. So much love goes to everyone who complimented, shared, and showed love to my designs. It all feels so surreal and so so special ❤️❤️❤️ This whole thing felt so foreign to me, but once everything started rolling, the energy flow just felt so seamless and did not stop. I’ve come to realize the only thing ever holding me back from creating a whole collection was fear. Once I broke past those walls, the possibilities felt endless and it felt like I was doing exactly what I was meant to do. This collection was really important to me, not only because it was the first real collection I ever created, but the growth that came along with it all feels so good and unstoppable. Idk if I overanalyze everything too deeply but, the outcome, the timing of everything, the opportunity, the community, just everything ..it all feels so right and in align with my journey and purpose. Finding the comfortability in the uncomforted. From vulnerability to disruptive fears and phobias. An overall mix of clashing patterns, textures, and colors in a fluid unison. A melting pot of culture, style, and aesthetic. Part taking inspiration from the art of Shibari, playing with alike silhouettes but how it can also be explorative, empowering, and very intentional within detail. I blended jewelry elements and unconventional materials symbolically within each design using crystal beading, matches, recycled materials, and various forms of metal throughout to tell a story. Through this collection of work I want to create conversation and evoke feeling along with curiosity, when it comes to puzzling out detail that makes up each look. ______________________˚ ༘ *ೃ༄ .ೃ࿐ So grateful for this beautiful experience and everyone I was able to connect with.
