Behind the camera again, this time capturing stills as we experimented with rich orange tones and how they shape mood, movement and story.
Working alongside @barrett_alex on Ember continues to be such a fascinating process, exploring how theatre and film can collide and elevate one another.
Through light, shadow and physicality, weāre building a world that feels both grounded and otherworldly. Less about dialogue, more about whatās felt.

Today I had the pleasure of stepping behind the camera for a change, capturing stills as we explored how theatre and film can collide and complement one another.
A real pleasure working alongside @barrett_alex on Ember a project that blends cinematic storytelling with the expressive physical language of theatre.
The film draws on striking lighting design, abstract environments and movement-led performance to create a mythic, immersive visual world. Rather than relying purely on dialogue, meaning is communicated through composition, light, gesture and movement.
Influenced by expressionist cinema and image-based theatre-making, Ember uses bold contrasts of light and shadow to evoke a world that feels both ancient and contemporary.
A fascinating process to witness and exciting to see how these visual and theatrical languages can merge to create something visually poetic and atmospheric.
