On the morning of August 18, 2021, my best friendāmy grandfatherātransitioned. And by that evening, in the midst of my grieving, Brass & Brunch was dropped into my spirit.
Before going to bed that night, I went to GoDaddy to lock in the domainā¦ and now, that baby is being birthed on June 14th.

We are seaux blessed to come from a culture that has celebrated Black excellence, joy, resilience, and community for well over a hundred years. Today was extra special, and my heart is full of gratitude. š¤š
To grow up witnessing this traditionā¦ to now be a part of it (letās geaux @thenolalolas ) and to bring the next generation to witness it is everything!
THIS is the kind of history that deserves to repeat itself ā generation after generation. Ya heard me!

These moments brought so much joy to my heart. Being able to feed people in the now while creating memories that will last far beyond the meal is something Iāll never take for granted.
Food has always been more than food to me. Itās comfort. Connection. Celebration. Love. Community.

Yāall Motherās Day made the first time in my life that I witnessed a cargo train on the river.. I was truly fascinated by this 7 in the morning, all though it doesnāt take much, but for it to my first time add the fog coming from the river. Iāll never forget the 1st Motherās Day without my moms earthly presence because spiritually I know that ālil girlā (she loved when I called her that and Shawty) was all up in my good mix!! šāØš
