Very much like me to recap a Christmas show in February! But that’s because I’m told time is a construct. Here’s “Santa Claus Is Coming To Town” featuring Rosa (@rosaa_lapeligrosa ) on clarinet from December. I have wanted to work with clarinet for so long so I was beyond happy that I got to do this show just before the end of 2025. This was a fun one! Thanks to Lucas on keys, Phil on bass, and Axel on drums for making it happen. We were later joined by Myrtle Thomas and Nikki on background vocals, and boy did they cut up!

Super excited to be doing a Christmas carol on December 16 that will combine my jazz and gospel backgrounds. I have been working very hard on this show, including creating this promotional jingle to showcase the ✨vibes✨ you can expect next week Tuesday! To find out more about this show, check out the link in my bio! I am joined here by Lucas (@lucashoehne123 ) on keys and Rosa (@rosaa_lapeligrosa ) on clarinet. At the show next week, we will be joined by the rest of the band, which includes drums, bass, and two background singers. This promotional jingle extrapolates from the melody of Sleigh Ride originally composed by Leroy Anderson. #montreal #jazz #live #clarinet

For my final show of 2025, I will be putting on a Christmas carol on December 16 to bring forth all the joy, whimsy, and cheer that characterizes this season. This show will tap a bit more into my gospel roots with some jazz flair, as always. I’m beyond excited to have Rosa (@rosaa_lapeligrosa ) as a special guest, playing the clarinet — which is my favourite instrument. The band includes: - Axel Bonnaire (@axel.bonnaire ) on drums - Lucas Hoehne (@lucashoehne123 ) on keys - Phil (@phil.groovin ) on bass - Myrtle Thomas (@myrtsy ) on background vocals - Nikki (@niickmusic ) on background vocals See you all on December 16 at Théâtre Sainte-Catherine! Ticket link is in my bio. ✨

A snippet of my performance of “A Foggy Day” from The Fave Daka Show starring The Eric Dubé Big Band. This tune is part of my repertoire and so I felt lucky to have performed it with the big band. Thanks so much to Eric Dubé (@ericdubetbone ) and to all the musicians on stage. There are too many to list here but I am grateful to each and every one of them. As always, big thanks to Théâtre Sainte-Catherine for having us! I really do love performing on their stage. Another Fave Daka show means another Fave Daka promotional jingle! I cannot wait to be inundated by the sound of 16 individuals playing the trumpet, sax, and trombone next week Wednesday at Théâtre Sainte-Catherine. If you wanna see first-hand how I survive this, then come stop by! Show details are in my bio. Beyond thrilled to do this with The Eric Dubé Big Band, some of whom you can see in this video. This promotional jingle extrapolates from “Sir Duke” by Stevie Wonder. #montreal #jazz #livemusic

Next up at Théâtre Sainte-Catherine is The Fave Daka Show starring The Eric Dubé Big Band, a 15-member jazz orchestra fronted by the Montreal-based trombonist and bandleader Eric Dubé (@ericdubetbone ). Dubé is a graduate from McGill University’s jazz program and began his journey as a big bandleader in December 2023. He has performed all over Canada, Germany, Poland, Estonia, and Latvia. I am beyond excited for this show as it has been in the works for several months now. It will also be my biggest show to date. Join us at Théâtre Sainte-Catherine on November 19 for what I promise you will be a magical night. You can find out more in the link in my bio!

A short snippet encapsulating the vibes from last week’s show in tribute to Duke Ellington. I had so much fun on stage and I think that that is pretty evident from all my dancing. Indeed, there’s always more where that came from. Special thanks must go to our special guest, Brooklyn Wood (@brooklyn_wood_violin ), for being so brilliant on the violin and for lifting the energy in the room with each note. Thanks also to Ingrid Li (@ingridlimusic ) on saxophone, Zach Winter (@wachzinter ) on guitar, Thomas Andersen (@_thomas_andersen_ ) on keys, Matisse Gubby-Hurtig (@matisse.gh ) on bass, and Daniel Nash (@danielnash_12 ) on drums. This performance is to “Perdido” by Juan Tizol, a song which was first recorded by Duke Ellington. From Fave Daka Sings The Duke Ellington Songbook at Théâtre Sainte-Catherine on October 30, 2025.

New show, new promotional jingle! This time with “surprise” guest, Brooklyn Wood (@brooklyn_wood_violin ), who will be playing the violin. I try to make each show as unique and exciting as possible so I hope that that is represented through this jingle. If you are free next week Thursday (Oct. 30) at 7:30PM, come join us at Théâtre Sainte-Catherine. You can find out more in the link in bio. This show will also include Zach Winter on guitar, Daniel Nash on drums, Ingrid Li on saxophone, Thomas Andersen on piano, and Matisse Gubby-Hurtig on bass. This promotional jingle extrapolates from Prelude To A Kiss by Duke Ellington. #montreal #jazz #music #mtl
