Part 2 of a project I had the honour of working on with @a21 a few years back but never got around to post it.

Every now and then you get a call to work on something that is not just a creative and logistical challenge but also supports actual change that is much needed in this world. @a21 are a NGO that’s fighting human trafficking and modern day slavery and has an exceptional high track record in their field. You might have seen their posters in airports, bus and train stations around the world. Their approach is not to have one generic campaign or video for the whole world but tell stories that are based on true accounts in each area of the world they are active in - names and locations are made up for security and protection reasons.
A big thank you to @favarental at this point for supplying the gear and making it a breeze taking it abroad.

Running a production out of your known environment comes with its own challenges: sourcing gear, crew, logistics, etc. But among one of these is something we often don’t mention and that is the emotional toll working on something so dark, so wrong in this world, that is not just made up but quite literally happens around the corner. I remember filming the r*pe scene on location and for security reasons we did not inform the neighbours about the filming. It only struck me after the fact that even though the actors screamed and yelled in the native language of the location, no one seemed alarmed. No one came and asked what’s going on. Only on my way back, when leaving the “production bubble” did it occur to me that where we were retelling this story, is the very place it is happening.

I am incredibly thankful to all the crew, cast and especially the intimacy coordinators and local advisors for making this possible. Technically, creatively but mostly safely being able to raise awareness and help to fight modern day slavery.

Our P+S Technik Freestyle Mirror Rig offers 2 cameras with the same POV / axis. BUT you could shoot different frame rates, lenses, focal lengths, closeup and wide, cameras ie digital and S16. Infrared / B&W. Diff filters etc. Use it on a head, jib, Steadicam. Or even handheld… which was done yesterday on the setup in the photo 🤪
