In our religion of quartet playing, emerging ensembles experienced the Pichler-school as a metaphorical confirmation — blessed and equipped for the demanding realities of professional life.
Günter Pichler opened up new perspectives, always with a shared pursuit of the highest ideals.
His dedication extended far beyond the years of teaching, and he took an interest in his quartets throughout their entire existence, remaining as present as he was at their very first meeting.
He is one of the most legendary teachers in the history of chamber music.
For us, who had the privilege of experiencing him so closely, it remains an immeasurable honour. What a blessing! We will never forget our musical and personal encounters.
