Our recently completed facade for the newly constructed 16-story Paseo South Gulch Tower One. The pattern uses a growth algorithm of increasing/decreasing perforations to create a painterly effect that is soft and airbrush-like, and intentionally offers a contrasting dialog with the crisp geometries of the surrounding towers. The 4-story podium art screen is commissioned by an affiliate of SomeraRoad Inc. and represented by NINE dot ARTS; metal production by John W. McDougall Co. in Nashville. @ninedotarts
2400 WYNWOOD, a new 5-story work/live building located in the heart
of Miami’s Wynwood Art District, has received unanimous approval
from the Wynwood Design Review Committee. The exterior is conceived and designed by Faulders Studio; building executive architect is Perez&Perez; project sponsor is Goldman Properties. It’s great to be visiting our collaborative 2007 Airspace Tokyo project. This impeccably designed concrete and glass building is by Tokyo-based Hajime Masubuchi/studio M and contains multiple living units and commercial work studios. Faulders Studio worked with Sean Ahlquist/Proces2 to create the wrapper using two independent layers and four distinct pattern overlays to achieve visual depth. www.s-t-m.jp www.studio07.jp

What is the shape of Oakland? The iconic outlines of countries and states are easily conjured, yet a city’s geographical outline often remains obscure to inhabitants and visitors. As if hidden in plain sight, Shapeshift Oakland weaves a partial border figuration of Oakland within a background pattern inspired by the historic theater marquees in the neighborhood.
