Financial literacy is not just a topic. For finance students, it is part of your skill set.
This past month was not about theory. It was about how financial concepts actually show up in your life. Filing taxes, explaining your thinking in interviews, managing stress without making poor financial decisions, and building experience even when the path is not linear.
The difference going forward is application. Anyone can understand concepts. Not everyone can apply them consistently in real situations.
If you take one thing from this month, let it be this. Start thinking and acting like someone who works in finance before you get the title.
Finals season is not just a test of knowledge, it is a test of decision making under pressure.
The same skills you use in finance apply here. Prioritization, resource allocation, and avoiding emotional decisions all matter when time and money feel tight.
Focus on what has the highest impact first. Break large tasks into smaller, time based goals. Keep track of spending so stress does not turn into unnecessary financial decisions.
How you manage pressure now is practice for how you will manage real financial environments later.

The Finance Students Association had the opportunity to visit The Altieri Group of Raymond James.
Thank you to Richard Altieri and John Kerr for generously sharing their time, their career experiences, and their perspective on the financial services industry. As FAU alumni, their insights were especially meaningful to our members.
Alumni Success Networking Night with the Finance Students Association!!
Thank you to George Barbar and Matt Eisner for coming back to FAU, sharing their stories, and connecting with our members. This is what itâs all about.
If youâre studying finance but still unsure how your own taxes work⌠thatâs a problem đ
Understanding filing basics isnât just academic, itâs real-world money. From knowing your income type to understanding what a refund actually means, small details can make a big difference.
Weâre breaking down what matters so you can file with confidence (and not leave money on the table).
Know before you file. Because finance majors should definitely know this.
Your credit score is not random. It is a formula.
If you are a finance major and do not understand it, that is a problem.
Payment history, utilization, length of credit, and inquiries all signal risk. Students who understand this early build leverage before they even graduate.
This is one of the easiest systems to win, yet most people ignore it.
Start early, stay strategic, and build a score that works for you, not against you.
Small habits now lead to lower interest rates, better approvals, and more flexibility later.
Play the system, do not let it play you.
If youâre only saving, youâre protecting money.
If youâre investing, youâre growing it.
As college students, the real advantage is learning how to do both early.
Build your safety net and your future portfolio.
A memorable evening of celebration, connection, and new beginnings! â¨đŚ

This past Monday, Beta Alpha Psi came together to host our Spring 2026 Member Formal, featuring the Member Induction Ceremony and Officer Elections. It was an elegant and incredible evening dedicated to honoring the hard work of our members, candidates, and affiliates over the course of the semester.
Â
We officially welcomed our 8 new inductees into the Eta Tau chapter, taking a moment to reflect on our shared accomplishments and the dedication of everyone who makes BAP so special. The evening also marked a pivotal moment as we held our officer elections, recognizing the emerging leadership that will help shape the future of our chapter.
Â
Congratulations to all of our new inductees and incoming officers! We are so proud of the community we have built this semester and cannot wait to see where this momentum takes us next. đđĽ
