The Armed Box Crab (Platymera gaudichaudii) has so much personality packed into a cute tiny body smaller than my palm. In a span of 5 minutes, I saw it get chippy with a bunch of shrimps that got too close, snipe a few mysid shrimps for a snack and move with surprising gusto when it got sick of me taking pictures of it. #crab #🦀#scuba #marinebiology #underwater
In January, our team returned to the African Queen for a survey dive.
Ghost nets were clearly visible, draped across the wreck, still fishing long after they were lost.
They trap marine life. They scar history. And they don’t disappear on their own.

During the UB-88 cleanup, my GoPro was stuck in the on position on time lapse due to the depth.
