Dear Ammu,
It's been 2 years since you got diagnosed with Alzheimer's. We're so lucky we still have most of you, but everyday brings new changes and we're all doing the best we can to do good by you. You've always done the best you can and that hasn't changed.
I don't know how many more Mother's Days we have left where you still recognize yourself and your kids. Your husband. Your siblings. Your friends. Which is why it breaks my heart that I'm not there with you in person today.
Every missed opportunity to spend time together strikes like a dagger in my heart. I have so many regrets for how I treated you when I was younger. I was always the black sheep in the family and you just didn't know what to do with me, but amidst all the conflict you always tried. You showed your love through the time you gave us, the incredible food you cooked for us, the patience you bore for us. Even when we were at our worst, your love shone brighter than the sun.
It was never in our family to do this but I'm so glad I started telling you out loud that I love you. How much I love you. How lucky I am to have you. In every lifetime I would choose you, over and over again. Despite our pain and our flaws. It will always be you.

I got this literally darlin' lil' bottle of Darling Doxie perfume from the MCM Fragrance Collection as part of an Influenster campaign. I got it for free and this review is completely my own. I've been wearing it for a month on and off and as much as I love the packaging and the scent notes (ylang-ylang, sandalwood and chamomile) on their own, I'm not sure how I feel about the way it's mixed in this perfume.
When I first put it on, it has almost a peppery smell (I am by no means a perfume connoseiour and I'm sure I'm butchering the description) that isn't the most appealing to me.
HOWEVER, after an hour or so I do love how it smells on me. I don't think I would purchase this scent again, but I'd be willing to try their Mighty Bear fragrance which has key notes of bergamot, vanilla and sandalwood (I really love sandalwood 😬).
