🚑 A rare quiet moment on shift… Captured here are two of our FastAid response cars on standby — ready to respond at a moment’s notice. While moments like this are few and far between, they give us a chance to reflect on the impact our volunteers make every single day. 💙 On average, FastAid responders reach 65% of incidents before an ambulance crew, providing critical early care when it matters most. 📍 On this particular shift, our volunteers:
• Attended 8 emergency calls
• Contributed 14.5 hours of volunteer time to support the ambulance service 👏 Across the scheme, our 50 dedicated volunteers give an incredible:
• 900+ hours every month
• Responding to 400+ incidents monthly 🙏 None of this would be possible without the amazing support of our sponsors and the communities we serve. Every donation helps keep our responders on the road, equipped, and ready to save lives. If you’re able to support us, please consider making a donation today using the link below: https://givealittle.co/c/fastaid-web-general #FastAid #CommunityFirstResponders #Birmingham #Solihull #WMAS

🚨 Safety Reminder 🚨 This image shows the result of a serious car crash. The passenger had their feet on the dashboard at the time. It might feel comfortable, but in a collision the force involved can cause devastating, life-changing injuries in an instant — especially in this position. ❗ Never put your feet on the dashboard of a moving vehicle ❗ Always wear your seatbelt properly ❗ Sit upright, with your feet on the floor A small habit can have huge consequences. Stay safe, every journey. #FastAid #RoadSafety #StaySafe #ThinkBeforeYouSit #safety

FastAid, is pleased to announce it, has received a £20,000 Severn Trent Community Fund grant to help keep its fleet of emergency response cars operational. Working alongside West Midlands Ambulance Service, FastAid’s trained volunteers are often first to arrive at 999 emergencies, providing vital care and reassurance to people who are elderly, vulnerable or alone. The grant will cover essential running costs including fuel, maintenance and insurance, ensuring the charity can continue attending more than 2,000 emergency calls each year. FastAid receives no statutory funding, relying entirely on volunteers and donations. Our responders give thousands of hours annually to support their communities, while the charity also trains over 1,000 people a year in CPR and lifesaving skills. FastAid thanks Severn Trent for their amazing support and helping ensure no one faces a medical emergency alone. #FastaidCFR #SevernTrent #STCommunityFund #WMAS #Solihull Birmingham

Do you know how to save a life? ❤️ When someone’s heart stops, every second counts. According to the Resuscitation Council UK, survival chances decrease by around 10% for every minute without CPR — meaning the actions of people nearby can make the difference between life and death. At FastAid Birmingham & Solihull, we offer FREE CPR Awareness Training to local community groups — giving you the confidence to step in during those critical moments. We also provide Stop the Bleed training, teaching simple but life-saving techniques to control severe bleeding before emergency services arrive. You don’t need to be a medical professional to save a life — just the right knowledge at the right time. đź“© Email us to book a session: [email protected] #FastAid #CPRSavesLives #StopTheBleed #Birmingham #Solihull

We had a fantastic time recently delivering CPR awareness training to the amazing Girls’ Guides in Birmingham 💙 It’s always a privilege to share life-saving skills with young people in our community — you never know when that knowledge could make all the difference. A big thank you to the Guides for the lovely card and the chocolate biscuits 🍪 — such a thoughtful surprise, and very much appreciated by our volunteers! #FastAid #CPRAwareness #CommunityFirstResponders #Birmingham #VolunteerLife LifesavingSkills

💗 Empowering Women. Saving Lives. 💗 On 21st February, FastAid volunteers were proud to attend the Women’s Health & Wellbeing Event at Solihull Lodge Community Centre, delivering hands-on CPR and Bleed Kit awareness training to attendees. Participants learned vital, potentially life-saving skills — from responding to cardiac arrest to using bleed control kits with confidence. 🚑 We were also honoured to welcome the Mayor of Solihull to our session, showing fantastic support for community first aid education and women’s wellbeing. A huge thank you to everyone who came along and got involved — together we’re building a safer, stronger community. Want FastAid at your next event?
