MovingTowardsZero Farah Ahmed, Zamzam Ibrahim MovingTowardsZero #2: What's the Point Anyway? Thursday, April 23, 18h Honestly, why bother? The ice caps are melting, billionaires are joyriding in space, and apparently recycling your Coke can won’t save the world. So let’s just give up, right? 🙃 Join Zamzam Ibrahim and Farah Ahmed as we lean all the way into the absurdity of climate cynicism. From trolls who think polar bears are photoshopped to politicians who act like oil companies are charities — we’ll laugh, rage, and dismantle the “pointless” narrative one sarcastic punchline at a time. Climate justice isn’t pointless — pretending it is, that’s the joke. The 1002F bookshop will be presenting a fine selection of books on site.

When's the last time you explored touch outside of a romantic relationship? Yesterday I facilitated a wellbeing focused henna workshop at @hack_oldham with @cultureword where we discussed the importance of consensual touch as a way of offering care in communities. Henna as a practice during the month of Ramadan reminds us to slow down, connect with ourselves and others, and honor the act of giving and receiving care. The touch involved in applying henna becomes a mindful, intimate exchange — a quiet moment of closeness and trust. In a time of fasting and reflection, this practice reminds us that touch, when given with care and consent, can be a powerful way to nurture both body and soul. How do you experience touch as a form of care in your daily life? Let us know in the comments. 🌙✨ Photo (1) of @farzja and me by @gbs10_portrait (Originally commissioned by @migmatfest for #ifhennacouldspeak last June) #HennaArt #RamadanReflections #MindfulTouch #CommunityCare #ConsensualTouch #Wellbeing #HennaHealing #CulturalPractice #SelfCare #IntentionalLiving #Ramadan2025 #ArtOfTouch #manchester #oldham
