[ Sebuah Kisah Insan Ekonomi ]
The story of this post dated back almost 3 year ago, at the beginning of 1st grade of senior high school
Against all odds, saya berhasil menempati urutan ke - 8 KSN Ekonomi Nasional dan mendapatkan medali perak.
Terima kasih Allah SWT for giving me such gift in this world.
Last but not least, tetap semangat semuanya!
Last May, I started my first day of internship at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta. Recalling back, working at the vice presidential office in Gambir might have been my best experience in statecraft, public policy and politics to date.
Joining the Vice Presidential Deputy for Policy Support amid the formulation of Papua's Master Plan for Development Acceleration and the Indonesian General Election, I had the great privilege of working on policy briefs, presentation materials, high-level notulency, and regional development insight. In addition, I was able to conduct a qualitative and quantitative analysis of regional autonomy and economic intervention on my final capstone project which was presented directly in the VP office.
All things considered, I got an invaluable lesson and experience with each passing day, and I would like to thank Pak Velix, Pak Afif, Pak Doni, Pak Yudha, Mas Zahir, Mas Ari, Mbak Pipit and everyone at the Vice Presidential Office for embracing me throughout my 2-months internship journey.
I hope that someday I will be able to work with all of you in a more professional (and greater) capacity!!
Merci beaucoup, all 😄

Travelling 410 miles inland from the Atlantic Coast, we found ourselves stepping into various biomes and cultures we had never known of before. I transited to the Royal City of Marrakesh, which hosts the mighty Almohad Caliphate, some 800 years ago. The road was long, arduous and dusty, with the Atlas mountain providing an essential barrier that separates some fertile plains that we met from the harshness of the Sahara. Some towns are visited along the way, including the famous Ait Ben Haddou, which hosts the Gladiator movie production.
Yet we still arrive safely at the outskirts of the Sahara, just outside the town of Zagora. There, a Berber named Ibrahim guided us all the way to the encampment. The camel ride (which was our first in life, btw) happens to be bumpy but survivable. At the end, we settle near a big mountain that overlooks the vast and empty desert.
Late into the night, we continue blessing our days with the hospitality of the Berbers. We dance, chat, drink a sip of tea, and enjoy the traditional campfire that burn bright beside the amazigh music. After that, we gaze into the heavens to see the bright stars before our naked eyes.
I bid the greatest farewell to this land, its people and culture.

Last summer, I knocked on the mighty Royal and Sublime Gate of the Palace of Rabat. Unlike the Maghreb that I hear about in the history books and movies, this place embodied the cosmopolitan and progressive aspects that are absent in many places in Africa. I gladly admire the Andalusian Architecture that decorated the Kasbah (Citadel), upon which the River Sale merged with the sea. The people here are very welcoming too, with skillful painting, warm chai and seafood dotting the coastline 😆.
Little Farryzki would have never imagined that this former land of the Corsair Republic (1641 - 1661) would host a lot of cats! Which is very cool. I also equally admire the quality of public transit here, with a working 26-km tram line that connects the Suburb of Sale to the southernmost part of Rabat. Being away from home also doesn’t stop me from consuming a daily dose of Chinese Food (I crave fried rice so bad here lol). Lastly, I remark that the Atlantic Ocean brings with it a blessed cool water that I bathe myself in for a while.
May destiny bring us together again, the land of the two banks!

Hispaniola is indeed a heaven, and a sanctuary for those who have long missed the allure of the tropical sun. However, we did construct one key terms while we were there: "Dominican Efficiency". Aside from the hustle and bustle of the touristy areas, we found that service industry in Hispaniola possesses a unique philosophy that values time in a different way than we understand it both in the west or in the east.
In contrary to the usual time crunch, people here seem to relax and emphasize enjoying the moment. They greeted us, engaged in a long conversation and seemed to deliver a huge smile on top of every service they provided. This non-conventional wisdom is definitely worth my 30 minutes of wait for a plate of food.
Definitely excited to explore more parts of the island where Columbus first landed. We will meet again soon, Caribbean.

Dear Titania, there are many ways that our destiny converges, and this graduation is one of God's most unexpected plans thus far.
Once again, congratulations on finishing your 3,5 years accounting degree with a cum laude (honours). All these years of struggle, pain and dedication have come to pass. I'm super proud of your impressive journey thus far. Now, the real world lies waiting for you, with god's unrevealed destiny up ahead.
I will always love you ❤️
Side note: Thank you, Professor Cindy Ewing, for the research assignment to ANRI and for making this trip possible 😀
Windy and Heavenly Patagonia 🏞🏜🗻
“Somewhat like Agartha on the surface this world,” – said my travel companion.
Whether through adventurous spirit, destiny or just an impulsive travelling, we eventually reach the land far south in the icy and grassy land of Patagonia in Chile. The fishing town of Puerto Natales serves as our first major stopping point and resting area before going north toward the Torres Del Paine National Park. I don’t know how many types of biome(s) we traversed, as we passed through numerous savannah, icy hilltop, warm valley, and windy waterfall. But I think it's worth the 100 Km/h wind lol 😅
Although serving as a popular destination, the area is, surprisingly, less commercialized compared to the comparable destinations in North America. In total, we visited five lakes, 3 hilltop, and spent more than 200 miles on the road. They have reflective blue water that I haven’t really found elsewhere around the world, even in Canada. Everything is so picturesque that I bet every single camera that you brought could capture an amazing photo, just like my old Nikon D5500 and Samsung S22. On top of that, I haven’t found any trace of pollution or tourist trash that usually litters these kinds of areas.
Talking about the town where we reside, we just found an amazing taste of the local culture and cuisine far from the bustling city of Santiago. Founded in 1911 by a mix of European Immigrants looking for a better life, the settlement ended up hosting more than 20,000 people, with almost 200,000 visiting tourists annually. Even so, the town represents a unique cosmopolitanism of fishing industries, tourism, and unique architecture that remain well-preserved despite heavy tourist presence. As far as I went, I adore their local burgers, salmon and especially
still-authentic Japanese food far from home + their grid-style urban layout.
I dearly hope that god will bring me back to this place during my honeymoon!

Cerro Bandera (2,130 ft) 🏔
Last month, out of curiosity, I travelled to the edge of the known world in Patagonia, Chile. The trip that was discussed continously since a year prior has finally made out of the group chat. This is our second major stopping point out of 12 cities in 4 different countries across 2,5 weeks on a back-to-back travel.
In Isla Navarino, we encountered biomes that are beyond our wildest imagination. Although almost constantly battling icy rain and -2° C temperature, the landscape surprisingly resembled a lush rainforest of Indonesia. The huge trees that they had looks like the good ol' Sequoias on the American West Coast.
The island is mostly untapped by human civilization, with the City of Puerto Williams hosting barely around 3,000 people at any given time. Yet, it still came bustling with hikers from around the globe, calling some scattered cottages and mountain tents their temporary home.
I shall see you again, Antartica Chilena!
