CANBERRA TSUSHIMAMIRE SUPPORTS
THE KING HITS
Canberra’s foremost Cramps enthusiasts, King Hits sets are a hoot and a history lesson. The trio pull out lesser-heard cuts from the halcyon era of surf guitar, seamlessly blended with their own swampy, stomping originals. Check out their new double A-side 7” recorded by Owen Penglis of Straight Arrows (who’s recorded every garagey Aus band worth their salt, from Royal Headache to Miniskirt).
THE MIGHTY HOOPSNAKE
Australia’s only fully-accredited, ecology-themed punk band. Two biologists with an equal and abiding respect for the natural world and stoner-rock riffs. True to their ethos of environmental conservation, the duo have done away with any notion of a guitar player entirely and left the heavy lifting - heavy being the operative word - to the low carbon footprint of the bass guitar. Their debut album, Terror Australis, was released last year.
MORGUES
A dreampop duo, split between Sydney and Canberra, who’ve been quietly recording and releasing melodic gems since 2020. Wistful bedroom pop in the classic Sarah Records mould: interior character studies, with an underlying yearning for the great beyond. For fans of The Pains of Being Pure at Heart, Hatchie and Alvvays. Set adrift on a memory bliss.

Known worldwide for their explosive live performances, razor-sharp musicianship and fearless genre-blending sound, TsuShiMaMiRe have spent more than two decades carving out a fiercely loyal cult following across Japan, North America and Europe. Their upcoming Australian tour marks a major milestone in the band’s international journey and answers years of demand from local fans eager to experience their electrifying shows firsthand.
Formed in Tokyo in 1999, TsuShiMaMiRe—Mari (guitar/vocals), Yayoi (bass/vocals) and Asami (drums/vocals)—are renowned for pairing raw punk and hard rock energy with playful, subversive songwriting and a powerful stage presence. Fiercely independent and proudly DIY, the trio self-manage their career and operate their own label, building their reputation through relentless touring and uncompromising creative control.
That ethos carries directly into their live performances. TsuShiMaMiRe’s shows are equal parts precision, chaos and connection—often physically demanding, frequently theatrical, and always unforgettable
Yayoi says, “We are so excited to have tour in Australia! This is our first time to play in Australia. We want to make special moments with you in Australia!”
The Australian tour will feature a career-spanning setlist, drawing from fan favourites alongside newer material, delivered with the intensity and spirit that have made TsuShiMaMiRe one of Japan’s most compelling and enduring rock bands.

TSUSHIMAMIRE - CANBERRA - FRIDAY FEB 27
Japanese art-punk power-trio TsuShiMaMiRe (つしまみれ) have spent more than a quarter-century navigating a path between underground and the mainstream.
While they've had brushes with pop-cultural zeitgeist via their inclusion on the Fortnite soundtrack, or by providing the theme song to the Japanese broadcast of the Powerpuff Girls, the band's focus has always remained on steadfast touring and recording.
They've now racked up 23 full-length albums and thousands of shows at home and abroad - including 19 American tours and seven European trips. For the band's 20th anniversary show, the trio marked the occasion by playing a marathon 20-hour, 175-song set.
Though they have arena-rockin' experience opening for the likes of Jack White, TsuShiMaMiRe are most at home in a packed club with the audience in their face: their playful, subversive songwriting and razor-sharp musicianship exploding in a joyous burst of energy, equal parts precision, chaos, and connection.
After years of clamouring from Australian fans, the band is finally making the trip down under. "We are so excited to finally come to Australia,” the band share. “We’ve heard amazing things about the energy of Australian audiences and can’t wait to play our music there.”
Canberra supports TBA. Tickets on sale now!
It‘s been over a month since our trip to Australia, and we’re still reminiscing about that wonderful journey. Our drummer Moter edited a video log from the casually filmed videos on everyone‘s phones to commemorate the trip. Welcome to click the video and join our journey!

Run Run Run was started in Guiyang from 2014, currently a 6-piece group based in Beijing making “Chinese retro pop”. They fuse the psychedelic menace, ethnic music and the jangly pop finesse, implanting these ideas into the chilly mountains, winding rivers, and underground caves of southern China, where mellowed-out grooves and layers of freewheeling guitar dissonance can easily sweep you away.
Oi! We’re heading to Australia this month!
