Co-Fermenting | Yunnan meets Chiang Mai!
From dense forests of Chiang Dao to mountain fields in Mouding, Yunnan. We are glad to brew mead jointly with Day Drinkers Collective. We tracked wild bees in morning mist and listened to beekeepers talk about the long-standing harmony between fruit trees and bees. We explored local terroir and exchanged stories with farmers.
We are pleased to have them as the first group of co-creative partners of FARMentation® Maker Program 1.0.
Wild forest honey and fruits blend harmoniously in fermentation tanks. The mead we crafted together is more than a taste exploration, but a spiritual resonance between two lands across borders. It contains the charm of wild forests, the warmth of local farmers and the sincere dedication to brewing from both sides, waiting for the moment to be opened.
All the Yunnan spirits of Singapore converge at Folk Yard.
A city blooming into a garden. Diversity needs no noise, differences no compromise. Every culture finds its own spring. This is Singapore — small, yet just right.
We bring Yunnan to the equator. Country folk and city dwellers of all languages gather to taste Yunnan food, drink Yunnan wine, enjoy its music and dance. We dance to unchoreographed steps. Yunnan defies definition; raise a glass, and everyone reads it in their own way.
This is our vision: no export, only sharing; no pretense, only connection. Let Yunnan’s earthly joy touch every friend’s life. Let diverse cultures bubble in one glass. Cultural bonding is simpler than you think.
Farm To Table | ONE NIGHT IN YUNNAN
Farm To Table shortens the distance between people. Here, enjoying yourselves is the only rule. The bonfire dyes the moon warm yellow, sparks mingling with laughter — the bonfire is another moon.
After the folk dance, people from all places speaking different languages gather around the fire. It is a language that needs no translation. The sweet flavor of torch pear pleases the palate, soft bubbles gently burst between lips and teeth. No noise or disturbance, only laughter and starry skies by our side. Puppy Love
Opening the bottle evokes youthful sentiments. Its crisp acidity is like a shy glance in adolescence.
It offers an elegant white floral scent mixed with fresh green apple and pear sweetness, melting gently on the tongue.
With mineral notes like cool summer night breeze, the wine is light and smooth. Its lasting aftertaste is like an unsent love letter — soft, gentle, and unforgettable.
This is Daisy, the hidden puppy love quietly kept in everyone’s heart.
Farm To Table|Yunnan’s joy rooted in the land.
It’s a great joy to dine with Kylin, author of Notes on Mushrooms, as well as friends from Beijing, Cambridge, the United States and Kunming.
We gather right here in the Yunnan countryside — hometown of the torch pear.
A walk on the land, we experience the vivid cross-section of local culture and nature, and feel the texture of the earth beneath our feet.

🥂 Welcome to a quick Q&A with Yuchen, Amber and Sophie at the Old Granary.
This century-old granary is a youth utopia hidden in the countryside. With rammed red earth walls and tenon-jointed wood, soft light filters through aged windows. The lingering scent of grain and daily warmth remain alive within the bricks and tiles.
Stay tuned for this year’s FARMentation® Maker project, to continue the old granary’s story.

Horse Carriage Tour of the Ancient Town
Tucked away in Chuxiong’s mountains, Yunnan, Heijing Ancient Town stays quiet and untouched, with old tiled roofs and earthen walls mirroring scenes of the old days.
I bring my Singaporean friends to experience authentic rural life, ride field horse carriages and enjoy local culture. Traditional stores, barbershops and watch workshops line the streets, where elders relax and chat. These land-nurtured vibrant daily moments are the pastoral root of FARMentation®.Connected by the land, people from cities and countryside, speaking different languages, share a magical spiritual resonance.

In full blossom
Perched up high in the Shangri-La region of Yunnan, at around 2,500m above sea levels, the Deqin villages boast a dramatic climate shaped by high altitude, intense sunlight, thin dry air, and extreme diurnal temperature swings. This translates to longer grape-growing seasons, preserving the fruit’s natural acidity while building aromatic depth and structure, and in turn, producing wines of precision and elegance — as evident in @FARMentation ’s Medo Chardonnay and Syrah.
Meaning “little flower” in Tibetan, “Medo, 梅朵” is the name of a respected elder who planted the first grapevines in the village close to 20 years ago. The wines are a tribute to the pioneers who opened this region to viticulture, with the Chardonnay capturing the mineral edge of the alpine climate and the Syrah displaying a lifted palate of concentrated fruits and vibrant acidity.
