Wow, what an incredible year at FareShare Kent! 💚
“Looking back on 2025, it’s amazing to see what the team has achieved. We’ve diverted more food from landfill and redistributed more surplus than ever before, even compared to the pandemic years. More Kent charities supported, more individuals helped through the , and more opened… meaning we’ve been able to stand alongside even more people facing the cost of living crisis.
It hasn’t been without its challenges, but I am constantly humbled by the generosity of those who support our work. We simply couldn’t do what we do without our remarkable volunteers, from those picking and packing in the warehouse, to our drivers travelling tens of thousands of miles across Kent, to our Family Food Bank volunteers packing emergency food boxes, and our Pantry volunteers helping distribute food in their communities. Thank you, we couldn’t do it without you.
To our donors, suppliers, partners, and friends old and new, thank you for your continued support.
And to our incredible staff team who go above and beyond every single day, thank you.
We’re excited for 2026, building on what we’ve achieved with new partnerships, mergers, ventures and even more impact to come.” - Peter, Head of Operations, @FareshareKent
Towards the end of last year, we were delighted to welcome Nicholas Marston, Chair of Berry Growers to @FareshareKent along with colleagues from @Fareshare 💚
It was a great opportunity to demonstrate the scale of our work and how we redistribute surplus food to local charities across the region. We also had valuable discussions about how the berry industry can engage more closely with our work going forward, followed by a tour of our site.
We’re hopeful that this will lead to even more fresh British berries being redistributed through the network throughout 2026 🍓
Corporate Spotlight 🌟
We had the pleasure of welcoming Charlotte and the Corporate Credit Control Team from Brakes, part of the Sysco Group, to FareShare Kent for their volunteer day.
The team worked incredibly hard and brought great energy with them. Charlotte shared: “We absolutely loved every second of our day. Truly appreciate you all having us there and we would love to come back soon.”
Thank you to Charlotte and the whole team for your fantastic support, we’d love to welcome you back anytime! 💛
Thank You to Simon from Hitachi!
He came to volunteer with FareShare Kent this week, spending most of the day as a porter and also putting in a shift in the warehouse. His support helped keep food moving to charities and community groups across the county, giving them a warm meal this winter 💚

This year, we’ve been overwhelmed by the incredible support from our volunteers, food partners, community food members, staff and partners. Together, you’ve helped increase our food intake by 30%, keeping us on track to save 13,000 tonnes of food from landfill and use it to feed our communities 🎁
We hope you all have a well deserved break this Christmas, we can’t wait to see what we can achieve in the New Year!
The @faresharekent team 💚

The last two days have been fantastic welcoming Dave and Dale from Network Rail to FareShare Kent for some corporate volunteering!
From driving and delivering to picking and packing in the warehouse, their support has helped us make an even bigger impact for the charities we work with across Kent.
A huge thank you to Network Rail for supporting our work and helping us get good food to those who need it most 🚂

This week, we welcomed Jess and Michaela from Church & Dwight, one of our biggest donors and long-time supporters 💚
It was a pleasure to give them a tour of the warehouse and spend time strengthening our partnership as we look ahead to 2026. They also kindly brought along a few gifts, which were very much appreciated!
It’s been a Noteworthy November 🌟

Following on from yesterday’s post about our incredible volunteers, we saved this one especially to celebrate Nathan, who won The National Rising Star Award! 🏆
Nathan volunteers with FareShare Kent, and we couldn’t be prouder of his dedication, hard work, and the difference he makes to feed local communities and prevent food waste.
Well done, Nathan - an amazing achievement and so well deserved! 💚👏
Throughout October, we took time out to celebrate our amazing volunteers! 🎉
We handed out gifts and special personalised 5-10-years of service hi-vis vests, and one of our fantastic volunteers even received a national award! 🏆
Our CEO joined us to personally thank everyone for their hard work and ongoing commitment, the dedication we see week in, week out truly keeps our mission moving.
We didn’t manage to capture photos of everyone on the day, but please know how grateful we are to each and every one of you. We couldn’t do it without you thank you for all that you do!💚
