🍏A typical day in this role includes carrying out van safety checks, collecting order lists, picking food for each order, safely loading the van and delivering the orders out to our members. It’s a full-time permanent role working from Monday to Friday, 8:00 – 4:00.

🍞 What better time to celebrate the fact that last year, we redistributed just over 116 tonnes of bread to the charities and community groups we support.
🥪That's one heck of a lot of sandwiches which could be enjoyed rather than being wasted!

🍏At the heart of everything we do is the mission to rescue food from going to waste and getting it out to those who really need it. So when this delivery of red cabbage arrived looking less than appealing, we didn’t let that stop us.
By simply peeling off the damaged outer leaves, what we found the cabbage beneath was still perfectly good to eat. Before long, the cabbages were ship-shape and ready for delivery out to our community food members.

🌍 It’s been one week since we hit our £25,000 target in the Big Give Earth Raise and we’re still feeling so grateful.
Because of your amazing support, that amount was doubled with ÂŁ25,000 in match funding to give us an amazing total of ÂŁ50,000!
🥕That money will help us support more schools in Greater Manchester with our Vegelicious scheme, create a network of volunteer 'Proper Food Champions' and continue our work redistributing surplus food to prevent waste.

🍏In April, thanks to our brilliant supporters, volunteers, corporate volunteers & food suppliers, we were able to redistribute 201 tonnes of food, the equivalent of 479,040 meals to 285 charities and community organisations.
🥕That included 97.7 tonnes of vegetables and 13.8 tonnes of bread.
🍽We were supported by 60 corporate volunteers from 6 different businesses who contributed 360 hours of their time and helped get the equivalent of 21,600 meals out in the community.

🍏On International 'Stop Food Waste' Day, we're celebrating the fact that in 2025, we redistributed 2,227 tonnes of surplus food.
🥕That food went to support 308 charities and community groups across Greater Manchester, to feel people who really need it, rather than it going to waste.
