My dad has always been the one behind the camera—documenting every moment of our lives. Six years ago, before a big trip to Iran, I bought a camcorder in Chinatown determined to capture something special for him. The energy was high and bright: imagine my dad reuniting with his living siblings, my birthday!!!, the end of ramadan, and celebrating the start of a new year together….
As always, I was fixated on the food & the warm spirit of our culture. I wish I could bottle up the feeling of being loved by an Iranian family and share it with you… but this as close as I can get 💫
To be loved is to sit at a table overflowing with delights an aunt spent hours, maybe even days preparing. To be loved is to be kissed BIG on both cheeks for every single hello and goodbye. To be loved is to be someone worth haggling a price down for. To be loved is to smell fire in the air and know kabob is on its way. To be loved is to be pulled onto the dance floor—no excuses. To be loved is to be celebrated fully, despite distance, despite time, despite….everything.
All I hope for my birthday this year is for the world to love iran back—just as hard.

The name GODMOM is inspired by the nature of a godmother as chosen family, as someone you trust and tell your secrets to and as the fairy that waves a magic wand to transform your look ✨
The visual direction was inspired by the language of service businesses (like locksmiths!) with a call-me attitude and high-vis, vibrant colors you can’t miss—screaming at you to book your glam needs through GODMOM.
We brought along ultra-talented @khoibpham to imagine the logo as an illustration for our launch merch 🌹
And of course, had to use this insane image shot by @jasminemarierutledge of @lynnkimdo as the face of GODMOM

This short animation explores the origin story of the ultimate symbol of defiance—the Air Jordan 1. From the NBA ban, to its cross over and adoption across so many subcultures, becoming a global icon.
We brought on the storytelling masterminds at @doubledayandcartwright and had the honor of working with animator @blagaveli to bring this to life. Forty years in just 2 minutes… no biggie!
This piece had to go through so many levels of approval; from Phil Knight, MJ himself and even the NBA commissioner, Adam Silver. I think we may have gotten a few chuckles out of them 🤭

missing abuelito Oswaldo extra 💙 the only living grandpa I was fortunate enough to know and love. He was a prankster, a poet, an intellectual. He hated cheating when we played cards. I get my sweet tooth and love of a handwritten letter from him.
He passed when I was in middle school but every time I’m back home in Ecuador I feel closer to him 💛❤️ I still fold plastic bags into neat little triangles so he won’t get mad, lol.
