The mass graves that were found have been weighing on my mind and heart. I was looking at this field of dandelions and thinking about each of these seeds will float away and get a chance to implant themselves to create more beautiful flowers and proliferate. But the children buried didn't get their chance to bloom and grow. May we honour their memory by continuing our process of trying to do no harm. According to the Haudenosaunee principle is seven generations: what we do will have an effect on seven generations to come. Let's do better and be reminded that First Nations, Inuit and Metis are still the most marginalized on Turtle Island. We haven't even uncovered half of the suffering that has been endured.

Normally this is a time where we embrace eachother, but considering the circumstances I send a virtual to hug to those I know, those who I will get to know and to all those who need love and support right now. This is not a time to be thinking about all the things we cannot do, but rather be grateful for all that we have, we are, and are part of. May your path be the one untaken and without obstacles you cannot overcome. May you seek out new ways of doing and knowing so that our children, who will be the ancestors of the future, may continue to elevate from where you left of - unapologetically, fearless, flawsome, audaciously visible! Eid Mubarak to all who are celebrating! And to everyone may you have peace, contentment, good health and joy in your life. #eidmubarak2021

I'm always ready to be in new places and connect to what is there, whether it be the culture, or indígenous peoples or animals. In this case walking in the forest I was lucky to have some birds with me. My favourite part was hearing their wings flapping as they landed and then tightening on to my fingers so they could have good footing to find the best seeds. Little things are so fun! Who is ready to go on an adventure?

Sometimes we don't know where a new door will lead, but it's worth stepping through and seeing what's on the other side. When I was in Karachi it was a challenge to find some of the traditions buried under the want for modernization and Westernization. That want sometimes erases things that are beautiful, unique and often times a culmination of centuries of discovery. I was happy to find this door was not replaced with metal and glass. Are you replacing parts of yourself with "modern" ideas only to lose parts of your ancestry that could be celebrated? How do you decide what to keep and what to let go of?

Life is not black and white. The contrast between the two is what makes things beautiful. In this image all the shades and tints of colours is what makes this place magical. I miss the colour and vibrancy of being out and about. There is colour around everyday that goes unnoticed. Life is precious. I long to be out and living in the shades and tints.

Some say burl wood is deformed, but isn't imperfection what makes us unique? The straight and uniform tree will be cut down for timber. Yes it has the ability to create sound structures, but I don't want to be only sound, safe and secure. The burls represent a passing in time which proves overcoming injury, disease and attack from insects. For me, the ravages of the past creates the beauty. Like burl wood, I want to evoke emotion and be around those who do the same - no matter how imperfect they or I may be. Photo taken in Humber Arboretum

Even when things feel like ice, there is always a chance to melt. What parts of you are you hanging onto being cold? What do you need to melt? Can you see the ripples and the colour that still move even when things seem frozen? Take a moment to breath in the chill as something to remember. Photo taken driving through thousand islands

Where does your light come from? Where do you go when you need to find some peace? Do you have a place that you can centre yourself? What is it you do? Sing a song? Journal? Go for a walk? Call a friend? Body scan? Exercise? Gone are the days of waiting for the light at the end of tunnel. It's time to find a way to light your path. Ask for help if you feel you are in darkness.

Do you know who the Garífuna are? 6 years ago today I was in a village of Garífuna in Honduras. I was recalling how despite being people brought together to be slaves, not speaking the same language or coming from the same place, religion or background - they came together and found a new way of living with the Arawak despite adversity and very difficult circumstances. When you find yourself in a new and difficult situation, do you succomb to the fear of the unknown or do you find a way to persevere? Looking for ways to move forward? Let me know. I'm here to help.

I'm reminiscing in my mind's eye when we went to the water where the kids more freely played. It is interesting how some locations lend themselves to greater curiousity, discovery and possibilities to see things anew. Do you allow yourself to play? To dream? To find new ways to keep the momentum going? How can you open yourself up to the potential you have? Do you need a hand? I'd love to take you on a trip with me to activate some of those sparks.

When I showed people this picture when I came back from Costa Rica there were some who were freaking out. First Wil had my camera so it was taken by someone who knows more about snakes than I do. Second I like snakes and how they can shed their skin and transform. They are a powerful symbol seen in the medical profession and represents creativity. So why do snakes get a bad wrap? They are usually the first to recognize danger since they can feel vibrations in the ground are changing. Have you ever felt like you were misjudged by someone's assumptions or fears of who they think you are? What can you see around you in a new light?
