On my 4th St Patrick’s Day, I was honoured to be invited by @presidentirl and Sabrina Higgins to celebrate the contribution of community arts to inclusion and creativity. Being recognised for our community work alongside my fellow socially engaged artists was truly inspirational. 📸: Maxwell Photography (1&2) ☘️

MART Project Residency 3: Fatoumata Gandega Fatoumata Gandega is a writer, filmmaker, curator, and artist. Her practice addresses identity, displacement, and belonging themes, centring voices from diasporic, Muslim, and Black communities. MART Project Residency offers time and space for artists to test ideas, explore new processes, and develop their practice in dialogue with MART’s curatorial team, while utilising the large gallery space. Each project includes a period of research, studio-based experimentation, or the early experimentation of new work, contributing to MART’s mission of supporting contemporary artists in Ireland to take risks and expand their practice.

'Dare to Dream' is a creative development programme curated by Superprojects Curatorial Fellow Fatoumata Gandega (@fantasymina_ ), with support from Superprojects staff Rayne Booth (@rayne_booth ) and Giulia Berto (@berto.giulia ). The programme was designed to empower young people from diverse backgrounds to imagine new possibilities for themselves and their futures. This pilot edition ran from September to October 2025 with nine young people (16–20) from the Liberties Training Centre in Dublin 8 (@libertiestrainingcentre ). Centred on photography, film, and visual art, the programme provided space for self-expression, confidence-building, and exploration. Through creative workshops, cultural visits, and production sessions—each focusing on different aspects of artistic development—participants were encouraged to enter cultural spaces where they may not always feel represented and to create work that reflects their own perspectives. The programme was delivered in collaboration with Jonny Carley, Digital Media Instructor at the Liberties Training Centre, who provided ongoing support and mentorship throughout. In partnership with: • The PhotoMuseum Ireland (@photomuseumirl ) • The Irish Museum of Modern Art (IMMA) (@immaireland ) • Dublin Fringe Festival (@dublinfringefest ) Fatoumata Gandega is a writer, filmmaker, curator, and artist based in Dublin. Her work explores themes of identity, displacement, and belonging, centring voices from diasporic, Muslim, and Black communities. Her films have been shown at national and international festivals. She is the recipient of the Create & Fire Station Catalyst Residency Award, the National Talent Academy First Credit Short Film Award, and the National Council Youth of Ireland SPARK Mini Grant Scheme, and is the current Superprojects Curatorial Fellow (2025–26). #analoguephotography #workshop #filmisnotdead #artscouncil #photomuseumireland

📹 BEYOND BORDERS — FATOUMATA GANDEGA (Documentaire, 7 min.)
