Fancy Plants Cafe is preparing for our busy patio season, and we’re looking for another great worker to join our team! We are hiring for a part time position, someone who is comfortable working mornings, and can give us at least 1 day of weekend availability. You should be excited about getting to know our regular customers, as Fancy Plants is on the cusp of Lakeview and Boystown. You will be making espresso and tea drinks, and you’ll learn to make some simple plant based food as well. Bonus if you are passionate about cooking; There is always cafe prep, and I love catering weddings, pop-up dinners, and other plant-based culinary events. We have a lot of lively, kind, and creative regulars, and they make Fancy Plants Cafe a lively neighborhood hub. This isn’t a ‘keep your head down and disassociate’ kind of job, you should be able to communicate with others, and enjoy meeting people who come in. We have the nicest damn customers, which make it easy. You’ll mostly work with us as a team, but you’ll be working some hours alone too. You would work 7:00 - 1:00 weekday opening shifts, closing shifts from 10:00 - 5:00, and at least one weekend shift. Beginning pay after tips is usually around $22/hr before tax, and more if you are experienced.. SPRING WELLINGTON DINNER this Saturday and Sunday! This weekend we’ll be serving up the Fancy Plants Steak Wellington, WITH some glorious spring flavors! Sunday is almost SOLD OUT, but there’s more spots open Saturday! $59/person for 5 courses and service! Lately I’ve been tasting some beautiful asparagus, spring onions, black chanterelles, new potatoes, and baby artichokes.
