This is crazy... but the month of May is the 25 year anniversary of me booking gigs. Mind you, the early ones were as a teenager and figuring this whole thing out. Most of the early gigs were me helping touring bands get on existing local bands shows then making my own flyers. I didn't put s.e.s. or south end style on my flyers til a few years later but fuckin' a. Will probably do a zine or something this year chronicling shows and talking about some of the experiences and how I arrived at some of the conclusions that I have.
Thank you to all the bands that have played s.e.s. presents gigs over the years. Everyone that's run sound, loaned gear, volunteered to run the door, helped pass out flyers, made me flyers, helped start venues, helped me along the way. Never thought of this as a job or wanted anything to do with that side of things. Always thought of it as an obligation to a scene and community that's given me so much.
