Last few years I’ve been often returning and spending more time in my birth town - Łódź and my parents house. Digging in personal mythology. Finding objects of emotional value, arranging them in compositions to retell my story. Here is an image from my 2023 exhibition “Potatoes and Pearls” featuring pair of stilettos made by my Grandfather for my Mother. She used to love wearing high heels. But physically no more. I keep wondering about the significance of the moment when a woman can’t no longer walk in high heels even though in her soul she wears them forever.
In observance of NYFW it is also a tribute to everyone walking the runway sometimes in “very very high heels”!
Anna Bolina FW25 preparations. It is an exquisite experience to document backstage, the mix of fever and patience, extreme energy of visionaries gathered in often awkward spaces for this special time to create the spectacle. I find it infectious and important also quite vulnerable and magical.
