We’ve been more or less snowed in for the last 10 days- here’s a little update. -Potlid is snug as ever -New(and finally working) GSSL Bus Compressor in the rack. -Old (with new power supply and bypassed master switch) @shure Level-Loc all hooked up as well -Revisited the chili recipe from the 2022 chili cook off and i think it’s still good

Its getting close to around 2 years since @postanimal finished recording their record, IRON at the studio. Over the course of 3 (or 4) sessions, they came together to make something truly special. They started at the old house in Bloomington (where i lived with @thaw_meighborhood ) , where I was just starting to get the idea that a live-in studio could be a cool thing to do, then did their last week of sessions at the current Fallow. i had just put drywall and subfloor in and they were so gracious to be okay with taking a chance and recording in what was more or less an active construction site. its nice to think that the floor beneath the floor, and the wall beneath the paint was able to listen to the record get made, right before i sealed it in. The record and their love for it is as much a part of the bones of this studio as anything. Honestly an incredible record 2 years down the line. They put 100% of each one of themselves into this record, and i was so thrilled to be able to witness it.

Little grid post just to talk about the studio for a second- First want to start by saying that i’m home a bunch this spring and want to try to get people in! Please let me know if you’re looking for a place to get away and write/record/whatever! Doesn’t have to be just music- There’s space for everything you may want to do. Just a little about what I’m trying to do here- I’ve been working to create a residency style studio space down here in Brown County, Indiana for the last few years with an emphasis on hospitality. The goal is to give artists space and time to be able to focus on their craft away from the noise of their normal lives. Seated on 5 acres surrounded by forest, the house and studio are a great place to take a breath and refresh your creative process. All meals are provided and cooked by me, and included in the cost. The goal being that you’ll have everything you need to stay focused on your project. That being said, I’m aiming to make this as affordable as possible as well!! This is an ongoing (forever) work in progress, so i just wanted to give a little update and invite anyone to come take a look :)

After about a year of work- I think the studio is finally ready for people to come record! I’ve probably told you (and anyone who would listen) about the goal for this space, but here it is again. It has been a dream of mine for the last 6 or 7 years to be able to provide a relaxing and productive space for artists, where they can get away from their typical routines and do what they need to do. I have been lucky enough to work for the last two years on this house, and the last year on this studio in an effort to create that space. The studio is still bare bones- ish, but there is more than enough to track a great sounding record and you can fit a whole band in the (375 sqft) live room. The separate (150 sqft) control room has 22 preamps (studer + dynacord), a decent mic selection, and all the stands/cabling you’ll need. This doesn’t have to be just for music! There is a fully functional wood shop and lots of space for quiet working or projects. (The studio is above the wood shop so unfortunately those two can’t work at the same time). Additionally, food and all other necessities will be provided and included in the fee. You can think of it as “all-inclusive”. Between the house/studio, we can sleep 6 people (more if we get a little creative). I’m not out here to try and compete with the big studios. I don’t have nearly the amount of equipment as something like that, but if you’re looking for a retreat to take a breath, be quiet, and get some ideas down, this could be the place for you! Last thing, No one will be turned away for lack of funds (within reason of course). More than happy to barter or do work trade or anything like that. I really just want this space to be open and used by people. Let me know if any of this sounds good to you. I haven’t decided on a name for it, and there is still (always) lots of work to be done, but we have here a fully functioning studio. Feel free to DM me here or Email [email protected] if you have any questions, want to see a gear list, talk about avails, etc

Studio is framed, has electric and is mostly insulated! Next is doors, window, drywall, then the decoupled floor. 😮‍💨 But so far so good Got a 360 sqft live room, and a 170 sqft control room, and ultimately will be able to sleep 4 in the lofts and control room.
