The Accolay Violin Concerto in A minor is where things GET REAL.
For a lot of students, it’s the first actual concerto that demands something back. You can’t just get through it. You have to project, shape phrases, manage real shifts, and sound like you mean it.
It’s also the first time they start to feel what it’s like to lead. Not follow, not survive, but actually drive the music. The opening alone exposes everything. Confidence, sound, control.

Last week, we were so fortunate to have the magical 🌟 @raychenviolin for a masterclass. Ray is everything you think he is, but more. He is warm, nurturing, hilarious, lightheaded, brilliant, insightful, versatile, generous, selfless, and just the most inspiring human.
Ray cares so much about young musicians and empowering them to practice, and to always feel included and supported. He gives of his time so freely to students everywhere using @tonicmusicapp and in a million other ways.
