A mask-required concert:
🎄 High-quality (N95, KN95, KF94 or higher) masks are required to be worn at all times indoors. Free masks available, first come first serve!
🎄 If you purchase a drink, it must be consumed using an airtight drinking valve and straw.
🎄 4 HEPA filters will be running throughout.
🎄 Unmasked musicians will take a molecular (PlusLife) test before the show.
Accessibility:
🦌 Wyldflowr Arts is 5 blocks away from MacArthur BART station.
🦌 Room is wheelchair accessible, but the bathroom is not. The nearest accessible bathroom is at Eli's Mile High Club a block away.
🦌 Room capacity is 50, with lounge seating for 16-20 people on a first-come first-serve basis, and 25 folding chairs.

it's hard for us at fagjazz to fully convey the profound impact that Strayhorn's music has had on our lives. for many of us, his music was our first exposure to a musical ancestor that left you feeling truly seen, with a realization that somebody somewhere had lived a similarly lush life ;)
for many of us, knowing that somebody somewhere was able to articulate the beauty, reality, and complexity of living an unabashedly queer life, has left us feeling much more connected to a musical lineage, less alone in our fagjazz angst.
that strayhorn was able to express his truth so eloquently, and with an almost-otherworldly sonic color palette way ahead of his time, is a testament to his lasting impact not only within jazz but modern music as a whole.
today, we celebrate Strayhorn's memory with our release of Volume 1 of the Strayhorn Sessions. thank you so much for shining so bright and being a guiding light for fagjazzers for generations to come <33
