- A Lifetime of Emptiness -Blast from the past: December 17th, 2012 – our 2nd of 3 killer shows across the years at South Florida's legendary
@thecultureroom !, —so far! 😉
I remember how I used to hype up my friend—the one I’d always see front row at every metal show at this venue: "One day, YOU'LL see MY band shredding the SAME stage where we rage to our favorite metal acts!" Guess what? It happened FASTER than my wildest dreams.
Ripped straight from
@faethomband 's debut: "In the Name of the Father, the Son, and the Unholy" – a HORROR concept album trapped in a cursed Silent Nun Convent. Think Carmelite nuns' eerie vow of silence... but with DARK TWISTS, unholy rituals, and pure blackened chaos. 📜🩸 I’d like to know who actually read some of the lyrics in our first album?! If you own the album and love musical horror tales a la King Diamond, you’re in for a treat!
A Lifetime of Emptiness symbolizes regret, longing, and melancholy. Victor, our protagonist, gets a new life purpose from the unlikeliest soul: Beatriz, the mother superior of this cursed cloistered convent—who’s secretly possessed by the demon EZRAHMAEL. But Victor’s true fate? Still unfolding... ⛪
Each song in our concept albums is like a chapter in a horror novel. In this episode, before an insane sequence of events unfolds, Victor indulges in brutal self-deprecation—he believes he's lost it all. Those raw feelings pour out in this somber tune...
Side note: Last year, my girlfriend and I took a guided tour inside an actual Carmelite (Discalced) convent while visiting my hometown in Cochabamba, Bolivia (pics in a previous IG post). These convents are known for their strict, contemplative life of silence with limited outside contact—much like the eerie setting for Faethom's macabre tale. 📜
Last but not least: FAETHOM was Mariela (vocals & keys), Federico (bass), Hermes (drums), Fabian (2nd guitar), and yours truly (guitar) at this show!
