The Anvil Townhome Development is on its way to Silverton, CO! In partnership with the Silverton Housing Authority, we’re proud to build nine high-quality, energy-efficient townhomes at our Buena Vista facility now headed to their new home site!
This collaborative effort will expand affordable homeownership opportunities for local families and workers, ensuring long-term affordability and sustainability in the heart of the San Juan Mountains.
A huge thank-you to the many partners who made this possible — including the State of Colorado, the Colorado Health Foundation, San Juan County, CDPHE, Purgatory Resort, Tributary Development, and CHFA.

Our Fading West team joined the groundbreaking event last week for the Anvil Mountain Townhomes alongside community partners. These homes were built off-site at our Fading West Building Systems facility in Buena Vista and are now headed to their permanent home in Silverton, Colorado, where the Fading West Construction team will take over to set and complete the units for future homeowners.
This collaborative effort, led by the Silverton Housing Authority, will bring nine new townhomes to income-qualifying households expanding attainable homeownership opportunities in the heart of the San Juan Mountains.
We’re proud to play a part in helping Silverton grow its housing supply and support the local workforce.

These mountains are our backyard. For those new to our page, Fading West was born in Buena Vista, Colorado — a small mountain town where neighbors know each other’s names and housing shortages hit close to home. From our 110,000 sq. ft. climate-controlled modular factory right here in BV, we build high-quality homes for the teachers, firefighters, and essential workers who keep mountain communities alive.
We’re locals solving a local problem, and we’re taking that mission across the United States.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗪𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗡𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 & 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗻 𝗛𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗲 — 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮 𝗦𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀!
Every seat in the room was filled with builders looking to expand their businesses—and many are ready to make modular their primary method of home construction.
That says a lot about where our industry is heading.
𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝟭 was all about getting inside the process. We spent the afternoon on the factory floor, walking through what truly sets Fading West apart:
• In-house engineered floor joists
• Precision laser positioning of utility locations
• Insulation systems and quality control
• Final finishes, cabinetry, and décor
Seeing it firsthand changes everything.
We wrapped up Day 1 with a great “𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝘆𝗼𝘂” dinner, bringing together builder attendees and the Fading West team—an opportunity to connect, share experiences, and start building the relationships that this network is all about.
𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝟮 shifted into the full lifecycle of modular building:
• Building Codes & Engineering
• Installation & Transportation
• In-factory and On-site inspections
• Financing
• Foundations
• Fading West’s NEW Builder Resource Portal
• Marketing Strategies
• Model & Floor-plan discussions
But more than anything, this event reinforced one key message:
𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗪𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗡𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗶𝘀 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽.
This isn’t about telling builders why modular works—quality, speed, and certainty already prove that.
It’s about working 𝘁𝗼𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 to remove barriers, solve challenges, and create real opportunities.
Our success at Fading West will always be tied directly to the success of our builder partners—helping them market, sell, and install modular homes more effectively and profitably.
𝗧𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸 𝗠𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗿. 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸 𝗙𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗪𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗡𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸!

"We hate waste."
Sustainability is one of Fading West's four core pillars — alongside speed, quality, and affordability. For us, it means two things: people and planet.
Here's what that looks like in practice:
Efficiency over waste
Our modular factory runs on lean manufacturing principles. Standardized product lines and optimized processes have dramatically cut construction waste compared to traditional building methods.
Build it once, build it to last
Our homes are designed for long life — backed by warranties on key materials. Durability isn't just a quality story. It's an environmental one. Fewer replacements = lower lifecycle impact.
Resilience by design
We build in communities on the front lines of climate change — wildfire zones, flood plains, displacement corridors. Our homes incorporate fire-resistant materials and smarter structural strategies for storm and flood-prone areas. The goal: help communities rebuild in place and keep locals local.
Sustainability is social, too
Workforce and affordable housing for people at ~80% of area median income isn't just a business model — it's a social commitment. Stable housing is the foundation of healthy, thriving local economies. Our partners have long wait lists. We're working to meet that need.
Shaping the conversation
Fading West has been recognized nationally for innovative housing solutions. Our leadership is actively engaged in state and federal conversations about the future of affordable, modular, and resilient housing.
Sustainability isn't a checkbox for us. It's structural — woven into how we design, build, and who we build for.

Building Dreams in the Rockies: Fading West and Habitat for Humanity
At Fading West, we believe that true community is built on more than just foundations and walls; it’s about creating spaces where people can thrive. That’s why we were thrilled to partner with Habitat for Humanity in the breathtaking Vail Valley and Eagle County. Together, we not only constructed homes—we are crafting a future filled with hope, resilience, and connection.
In the heart of Colorado’s mountain towns, we’re channeling our passion for community development into action. Each nail driven and every wall raised represents not just a house, but a place where laughter echoes, memories are made, and dreams take root. Our commitment extends beyond building affordable homes; it’s about fostering a sense of belonging in the stunning landscapes we call home. Thriving neighborhoods are the heartbeat of strong towns, fostering community connections, resilience, and a vibrant culture that enriches the lives of all residents.
As we embark on this journey, we invite you to reflect: What does it truly mean to be part of a community? Is it simply the place you live, or is it the bonds you build and the lives you touch?
