“Objects In Mirror Are Close” an album by Fadda Fish now available for purchase and download at SHRKSIDESOUND.bandcamp.com “Objects In Mirror Are Close” is a compilation by Norfolk born and bred producer/rapper Fadda Fish. While the 7th installment in his catalog since his early association with acts such as Shaolin Park, TV of the Norfolk head hunters battle rap scene and Virginia Beach’s Brooklyn Taylor, throughout the 2010s, “Mirrors” is the artist formerly known as Q1’s second outing under the moniker Fish, since the 2022 release of “High Tide, Low Life: Theme Music For Homicide Vol. 1” which starred long time collaborator Hayze Rascoe aka Bandito Bobby a work he qualifies as an official demo from the SHRKSIDE SOUND SYTSEMS imprint. The producer affirms his own style of sample based Hip Hop as one highly considerate of the genre’s intersectionality with all reaches of black music without abandoning purist foundations however drawing particular influences from early 2000s mixtape and DVD culture, early dancehall and soundsystem themes, and obscure corners of Hip-Hop radio, Fish seeks to capture an esoteric, visual and immersive quality through an audible medium with the communal responsibility of a block party DJ…

“High Tide, Low Life (Theme Music For Homicide Vol. 1)” an album by Bandito Bobby and Fadda Fish available for purchase and download at HTLL.bandcamp.com Recorded between the years of 2015 and 2018 long time collaborators Bandito Bobby and Fadda Fish, (formerly known as Hayze Rascoe and Q1 respectively) reconnect for their latest iteration since the 2013 release of their Syringe Sonnets EP. A collection rooted in the duo’s upbringing in Norfolk, VA amidst the mid 2000s mixtape craze rapper Bandito Bobby expresses the texture of a time inspired by gang violence, freestyle rap and obscure instrumentals. With two solo mixtapes under his belt in “Above The Clouds” and “Rebel with A Cause” under the name of Hayze Rascoe, High Tide finds the newly realized Bandito Bobby rapping with full confidence and understanding of his range as a person maintaining a perspective of the tragedies of urban culture and gun violence however finding no shame in his survival. Aptly qualified as a demo, the project stands as a complete thought in both the rapper and producer’s respective catalogs and a culmination of the sound they cultivated for their SHRKSIDE SOUND SYSTEMS imprint.
