Have we mentioned lately how much we love Ed Shields, one of our original makerspace volunteers? He recently had a hip replaced, and the next day was in his workshop making a classic toy chest for one of his grandkids! Heal up quick Ed, we miss you.
At Factory Two he is kind, helpful and mild-mannered Jimmy, screen printing instructor. On the weekends? He is Jimmy Thunders, guitar god! Congrats on your win for Best Rock Band at the Review Music Awards for Domestic Disturbance!
Most first-time events have their share of hassle, surprises, or downright disasters. Shout out to Terra and the whole Flint Zine Fest team on pulling off the best-planned, best-run, one-day event we’ve ever had at the makerspace! Scores of vendors, killer bands, hands-on activities, and HUGE crowds.
Folks get their hands dirty at the makerspace all the time. This summer we're giving a you a whole new way to get dirt under your fingernails! Every Sunday at noon we'll be working on a new community garden behind Factory Two. Upcoming sessions include Building Raised Beds, Irrigation, Composting, and more! Pay by the session, or subscribe for the full program.
THANK YOU FLINT!!!
Saturday was unreal. Thank you to everyone who showed up, grabbed a zine, bought merch, supported the vendors, sang along, and helped make our first Freak Baby event feel bigger than we ever expected.
Still something weird, extremely loud, and beautiful happening here.
Long live the Local. Recap vid soon.
Should we do it again? 🖤
